I thought for all the world that a replacement would have been announced today.

Can anyone tell me, if for example you've paid £800 for a decent seat for AJ/Whyte, if the replacement is someone like Washington do you get a price adjustment on that seat or just the offer of a full refund?

Hearn was on UK radio just there. Some careful words but roughly:
    • Will name the new opponent tonight or tomorrow, down to a couple of options
    • Said it won't be a southpaw so not McKean, and Hrgovic has been sparring southpaws so it'd be a stupid fight for him (but didn't specifically rule it out) and presumably means not Wallin
    • Chisora "not a fight I want to see" (but didn't actually rule it out either)
    • Said it's not Washington - not a good fight, wants him to fight Chisora anyway
    • It's up to AJ whether it comes off PPV and back to a normal show as he'd take the biggest hit
    • People can ask for refunds if they don't fancy it

The heavyweight division is on it's backside, it's hard enough to get any fight signed off and then when it does there's a 50/50 chance of it going ahead or not because these fairly inactive guys can't time their cycles properly.

So he’s telling us it’s Helenius without telling us? I don’t mind the fight tbh definitely not PPV though

Hearn also said there were 6 in his head straight away that made sense. If he's ruling out Wallin, Hrgovic, McKean, Chisora and Washington, that doesn't leave many. But for the life of me I couldn't name 6 other live opponents.

What's Parker up to just now?

Not sure pal, but all the options except Chisora are the same level as Whyte so not sure they’d be a price adjustment

Helenius fought last weekend so it won’t be him.

Depends on who wants to take the fight at a week’s notice- I’d be amazed if it’s anyone who is better than Chisora (sad to say that).

Forget Ruiz, he will want big money, so will Hrgovic who is garanteed a shot at Usyk next.

Boxxer will probably block Parker and Bakole.

Top Rank would block Big Mak and Ajagba.

    Southpaws are out.

That leaves Kabayel, Hunter and Helenius in the running.

Since Hearn is negative on Chisora as an option, we can cross that out as well.

If the card is being saved then that's great news for the fighters. Can't really complain if refunds being offered for ticket holders. I imagine the turnout would still be good as the price of any paid for hotels, trains etc just aren't worth losing.

Just hope it's an opponent that offers some kind of fight and not just a glorified public workout

Twitter is saying it’s Helenius- he won within three rounds at the weekend. Strange times but fair play to him getting in there with a top five heavyweight if it is him.

I wonder how it would work with the undercard fighters. Would they need their purses renegotiated or do they still get paid exactly what they would have got if it was on PPV.l as AJ takes the hit rather than everyone else?

The general forum is saying Helenius too - as low risk as it comes since he's fresh from a fight last weekend.
