How on earth can that walking heart attack have an ego. Even funnier is that he writes about boxing when sumo wrestling should be more his thing. Not a fan.

It's a bad opponent simply because Washington, who already KO'd Helenius years ago, is fighting on the undercard and could easily have been elevated to main event. But nope, even Gerald Washington isn't shot enough, Hearn needs to stoop even lower and go for shopworn chinny Helenius, who literally just had a fight a few days ago. That's not even mentioning that Hrgovic could have been elevated either.

Agree that Joshua needs to win by stoppage.

I'd rather see this then see him not fight at all.

His writing is quite pedestrian. As too was Larry Merchant's. Both among their respective era's most well known (and considered by some finest) boxing scribes for the life of me how that came to be the case is a mystery.

If AJ get's beat it would be very embarrassing.

    :deal:

A prime Helenius of course would have been a major concern with that hammering 1-2 either catching AJ coming in or sniping him on the outside. Now though, Helenius is slower than ever - and he was always kind of slow.

Stoppage is mandatory, for optics. Anything else makes Joshua's third march to contention look a total sham.

The opponent choice itself on five days notice is fine. But he's painted into a corner; with this particular opponent choice he is setting himself up in a must KO situation.

Not sure it would be as embarrassing as being stopped by a little, fat guy at Madison Square Garden when you are supposed to be there to showcase your talent to the US market? But then again?

That little fat guy could fight like ****. However the aesethics of the spectactle did produce a lot of ridicule from the casuals.

Yeah if that's the alternative, I'll take it. But Chisora would be a better choice.

tbf Fury would never have balls to face helenius, so you should keep it shut. Helenius would kill Ngannou .

The fight was meant to showcase Joshua to the US market. That he hasn't fought there since demonstrates what a disaster it was.

As for casuals, that's where the majority of the money comes from. Particularly in big fights.

Helenius is shot. A total embarrass if it is him.
