Fair. Discussing P4P can feel as futile as dancing about architecture, to borrow a figure of speech. For me it just comes down to "I think X would beat Y, based on A/B/C" where ABC are whatever the hell you think are the relevant metrics. I prefer to do it based on what people look like in the ring (though obviously to bring it back to what you were saying, Bud, for example, gains more kudos for how he looked in the ring vs. Spence than how he looked vs. a spent Brook). See this is why I don't really talk P4P - I've just used about 100 words saying pretty much nothing! P4P - it's whatever you want it to be.
But Do you class Canelo as top 10 P4P ?? Remember Bivol made Canelo look like a club fighter kicked his butt. Even his Vegas judges couldn't bail him out of that one
Canelo doesn't have haters !!! That is what you Canelo worshippers call the knowledgeable boxing fans that see he is really just smoke & mirrors. You have no other excuse for Ginger
Bud's a little shakey ???? LOL Take away the unearned winning decisions given to Floyd & Canelo by vegas judges & man both would be trembling let alone shakey lol
You cheerleaders for the so called elite ,who are really divas not FIGHTERS!! just protected cash cows use Haters as a name for the real boxing fans. You have no other answers
You applaud Canelo for holding up 154-175 and jumping weight classes, just to duck David Benavidez? Why's he fighting Jermell Charlo, again?
As I said, Inoue, Usyk and Bud, with Terrence having an asterisk in my book. Never included Canelo into the company (I consider Golovkin I and Lara fight robberies, with Golovkin II and Trout bout being extremely controversial, especially the former.) Castillo I and for some Maidana I were the only debatable cards as far as I'm aware of. Bringing him up is too far removed from the discussion though, and likely a topic for an entire thread given the length of his career, quality of opposition, number of weight classess and circumstances etc.
Canelo cleared out 168 with the exception on Benavidez. That isn't holding up the division. I don't understand what 154 and 160 has to do with Canelo moving up to 175.
How about the dark clouds hanging over IV Gate my friend ? He blatantly cheated by receiving illegal saline drip in his own home 24 hrs before fighting Pacquaio & was caught red handed. For the life of me I cannot believe they claimed he did nothing wrong . Should be one law for EVERYONE!! & it should be enforced FAIRLY
Then how can he justify refusing to fight Bivol @168 to defend his titles . He claimed he was injured when Bivol schooled him but he had TWO fights with no problem before he got schooled by Bivol
Because he's fighting the current undisputed champ at 154, blocking a potential clash between Charlo and Crawford. This is after blocking a potential Bivol/Beterbiev clash by trying -and failing- to cherrypick from the weaker of the two. Why won't he just fight Benavidez?
