This content is protected Apparently Wardley is negotiating with Queensberry and they are close to reaching a deal to broadcast the bout on TNT. How come Boxxer paid Masternak money with the promise of a Billam-Smith fight next, so he could withdraw from his position as IBF mandatory to Opetaia so Riakporhe could step-in then? Also doesn't explain why they waited until the day of the purse bid to pull out. I've also heard Okolie wants to exercise his rematch clause. Maybe Riakporhe has been promised the winner of the rematch between Billam-Smith and Okolie? I'm not sure how Boxxer will finance the rematch - the first fight was only possible as it was staged at a stadium.
Seems like the fights are falling victim to a war between platforms / promoters? Sky or Qp trying to kill off the competition by spinning out the purse bid then pulling out at last minute to go another direction? Makes it hard to build interest in fights if they don't end up occurring?
You sound a bit salty that the first fight did well in a sold out stadium haha. Sounds like a pretty decent deal if that is the case. Opetaia, despite being a belt holder, seems to be getting frozen out and hasn't fought in over a year. Don't know where he goes next.
