Hearn wants him fresh for the December Wilder fight.

He's not the worst possible now is he. He's a few levels above Seferi, Pianeta and Shwartz. I'm no Joshua fan but what do people expect on a few days notice.

It's super unrealistic to expect Joshua coming off a few bad performances to take on Hrgovic with a weeks notice anyway, whether Hrgovic would have taken it or not. Way too high risk.

Look what happened with a short notice Ruiz.

It's his second fight with a new-new trainer, who is clearly working on him. Whyte or Parker were probably the best washed-contender choice, before the list ventures into the fringe/B-show category.

Well, a lot of "decent" heavyweights "tweeted" that they'd be interested. Apparently, none of those guys actually called.

I know people primarily use social media to communicate these days.

But, if you want a job, it's probably still best to call - as was proven yet again.

He wants an easy tune up on short notice.

    It is what it is.

I rewatched Helenius - Wilder earlier and forgot just how cumbersome Helenius was for the short time it lasted.

Joshua is going to pick him off with relative ease.

Do you think Helenius made the call or got the call?

Late replacement and helenius is still better than 90% of opposition Fury has faced throughout his career .

Because he needs someone he can look against and avoid jeopardizing his potential clash with Wilder later this year.
Helenius is not as good as Ruiz or Hrgovic but still a valid contender. And relax, it's no longer a PPV.

Aj has consistently fought the best opposition of any heavyweight of this era.

Things have obviously changed, Sir. This is the point of the thread, you know?
