Instead of fighting Galento, Qawi goes back in time and substitutes as Louis opponent. Could Qawi dethrone Louis?

Favouring Louis here, but Qawi definitely makes a fight out of it.

Someone finally made a hypothetical matchup …that hasn’t been done before….

Savvy Qawi, a smaller target, could be troublesome for Joe over the first 3rd to half of the fight but, as cliched as it sounds, I think Louis coolly and calmly catches up for a definitive KO or stoppage by the 3/4 mark at the latest.

And let me echo, a nice, fun matchup!

Louis is bigger, smarter better at everything and more old timey he wins via however Blackburn sees fit.

    Could Qawi hurt Joe Louis?

Qawi would give a good account of himself but prime Joe Louis? 4th or 5th round KO , that version of Louis was an assassin .

If Conn hurt Louis Qawi certainly could. That being said, I'd expect the best most focused version of Louis vs Qawi.
After some adjusting , and maybe a knockdown for Qawi , I'd expect Louis to find the range, jab, uppercut, hooks, and uppercut ,hook counters to start raining in on Qawi like a monsoon, by the 5th , 6th rd Qawi would look swollen and battered, as Louis starts to tee off on him .
Qawi wasn't a great mover, his defensive skill set was excellent head movement, and parrying. That worked well against fighters that didn't combo punch well.
But Louis is ( My opinion) the greatest offensive heavyweight in history. His combo punching was 2nd to none, he was very intuitive with his punch placement . Make him chase you, you have a chance, stand in front of him for long. You're probably doomed.
Qawi would learn that the hard way, laid out flat on his back by the 9thrd......

No, and perhaps there is a reason why it has never been done before.

It's an interesting match up but Kwai got shy w big punchers ... Spinks in round 1 of their bout ... old , huge, slow George in their bout .. a blazing punching Louis stops him early to middle in decisive fishing

It would be possible but not so likely for lack of opportunity - I think Joe gets to Dwight faster and with the much harder shots. Worst case scenario is that Qawi lands a Sunday punch that could shake Louis but Joe’s whiskers would stand up I think.

Can’t see any other outcome than a stoppage win for Louis. How soon does it come ? Not sure but I doubt it takes too long
