JCC sr vs Floyd Mayweather Jr!!!?

Has Floyd Jr ever been in a war? Anyway, I pick Chavez by UD. Castillo, who is a poor man's Chavez, fought on even terms twice with Floyd Jr. so did Maidana

 

Hardly a war. More a safety-first wide UD for Floyd.

 

This is a very tricky one to call. Of course two obvious examples against Chavez are his trouble with the speed of Taylor and Whitaker. However despite being behind on the cards he did totally hammer Meldrick and it can be argued he was past his best against Pernell.

While I had Castillo winning the first Mayweather fight by 1 point, I never saw the controversy in either the rematch or the two Maidana fights which I had Floyd winning clearly. I am not sure it is fair on Floyd to use one close fight against him, which could have gone either way.

Overall I feel it depends on the timing and weight this is fought at. At super feather and lightweight I narrowly favour Chavez, above that I favour Mayweather.

 

What has Floyd in common with Taylor and Sweet pea? Not that much. Taylor was a very busy fighter who threw high volume of punches and in combinations. Floyd has low punch output. Pea was a southpaw, you can't compare

 

I was thinking more in terms of the hand speed of each of these guys. They were all quick with combinations and single shots, which of course Floyd is also, so I thought that maybe a factor?

50/50 fight 2 greats with not a lot separating them in my estimation. I would probably be hoping JCC to win? But I envision a tough close decision to either guy

 

As much as i love Chavez I’m picking Floyd by decision.

 

JCC already cracked the Philly Shell against Roger Mayweather Floyds trainer and mentor, twice. A knockout in the 2nd their first fight and Roger quit on his stool in the 10th in their second fight.

I easily got JCC with a Tko/KO against Floyd.

What weight are they fighting at?

 

A difficult fight for both fighters. Mayweather has the style that would always trouble Chavez.

On one hand some will say Castillo and Maidana were not Chavez and look how well they did.
On the other hand I know Floyd is going to move and has the speed to give Chavez problems. I can see Mayweather fighting a fight similar to Whitaker and pulling off a decision win.

Mayweather never really had that fight against another great where he was really pressed. When he was at Jr. Lightweight I can see Chavez beating him too....

Both had the capabilities of beating the other.
