He ain't, but Wilder is also good at controlling distance and setting up his weapon right hand. The only one who managed to successfully close the distance against Wilder was Fury. AJ doesn't have anywhere near the same ring IQ as Fury and no, I am not a Fury fan these days, but it's the truth.

I just don't see how AJ beats Wilder. I could be wrong if it ever happens, but I don't see it myself.

Was in bed last night and not reading all them posts but the stand out thing I take from the night is more shocking behaviour post fight by the humble one. The one who I’m sure has referred to himself as a role model and a if I can do it you can type.

Nice ko and he looked as sharp as I’ve seen him early on in terms of footwork, although I couldn’t work out if it was because it was against the most cumbersome of opponents. Started gassing again but that’s nothing new. He seemed petrified of being hit still and very insecure in his corner, even against a man who was only throwing the odd jab, albeit good ones. He was scared to get in range properly so imagine against Wilder. There’s a mental block there so even though it’s more suicidal to try and avoid punches against Wilder for 12 that’s exactly what he’ll do. More chance of “killing before being killed” as his mate Bellew said. Bellew was making excuses for him again.

Fair play to Helenius, made it a bit more of a fight than most of Joshua’s early opponents. I thought at this stage he’d just go down like Molina as soon as he was tapped.
