Hagler-Hearns - one of the greatest fights ever and one of the most quotable fights for commentary ever:

• Reg Gutteridge at the start of round 3 on Hagler: “Hagler has really fired himself up for this fight. We always knew he was mean, moody and a bit magnificent…”
• Reg Gutteridge describing Hearns being kayoed as it was replayed: “Like a kid in a play pen”; “Like a baby giraffe going for his first walk”
• Al Michaels after Hagler kayoed Hearns: “It didn’t go very far, but it was a beauty”

Don’t understand the controversy, Orthodox Hagler lost nearly every round.

 

I’m thinking we need a series of threads of Orthodox Hagler vs. _________.

How would OH do against SRR, Monzon, LaMotta, etc.

For that matter, would Orthodox Hagler have beaten Hearns, Duran, Vito, Mugabi, even Sibson and Minter? (I’ll grant him Caveman Lee and both Fully Obels … probably both Hamshos also.)
