I respect the man. Limited, hard punching fighter who clearly understands he needs to improve his toolset as fast as possible. Beat Ali Demirezen (who in his anticlimatic career knocked out Washington and put the final nail to the coffin of Kownacki's career), actually faced Sanchez and after taking an L he moved on to rebuild, taking the 0 of Sebastian Shaw and stepping up to fight Kossobutskiy instead of the American no-hope Jared Anderson.
Limited hard puncher who does not fully use his power, maybe there is still room for improvement, we will see him against Kossobutskiy.
At first he was just a big scary dude with power. Relying mostly on his intimidation factor. But last thing I did see of him he did actually develop some footwork and a jab. I did not expect him to ever do that so I was impressed by that. That at least shows dedication to his craft.
Far too limited, no head movement, immobile, slow, predictable attacks, open to right hand counters due to his predictable reliance on his jab to set up everything. Never saw him as a serious contender, knew Sanchez would beat him. Does have great power but he's far too vulnerable in other areas to ever be more than a dangerous journeymen.
I wasn't impressed with Ajagba in his victory over Shaw. He simply outworked Shaw with his jab and never had him hurt. Shaw never really applied much pressure and Ajagba never took advantage. I'm pretty sure Kossobuitsky will apply pressure.
It's easy to commit to throwing that big right when you've got a 40+ year old fighter in front of you who is so punch-drunk he thinks he's David Haye carrying his hand down at the level of his balls. I'm referring of course to his fight with Brian Howard. He didn't get that shot off against Rice, Shaw, or Sanchez, did he?
One dimensional puncher with not much else going. I think his most devastating performance was when he made Curtis Harper walk out the ring before the fight even started.
Has good power and has improved the past 2 years more than Wilder did i his entire career Nevertheless, he started boxing pretty late and got too many gaps being ever a TOP10 contender If he fights against Kossobutskiy like he did gainst Shaw, he will lose He should fight Cosumano after he loses to Zhan
time will tell. got a feeling he is not going to improve a lot though. seems like a nice guy....this is a tough game to start late in.
What Efe needs would be the late great Curtis Cokes to take him under his wing. He reminds me of Ike Ibeabuchi when he first arrived at Curtis Home of Champions gym in Dallas Tx. A fearsome looking crude banger. Curtis worked with Ike & transformed him into the consummate boxer puncher & possible future champion. What trainer today could do what Curtis did? I don't know. All I know is what happened was a tragedy not only for Ike but for Curtis too. All trainers want to train the Heavyweight Champion of the world & Ike could well have made it come true
He's been exposed as a prospect but I'll give him credit for taking high risk low reward fights. He'd lose to Dubois or Mahmoudov imo.
