Wilder's punch was quicker and more powerful. AJ's shot was slow, loaded up, and telegraphed. If he tries that against Wilder, Deontay is going to intercept it and catch Joshua with a grazing right hand, which may kill him.
Helenius didn't take a dive, he fought the way he always does. You also have to consider that he's slowing down now. Conspiracy theory posts are the worst type on this site. You can't reason with these people.
Helenius always comes to fight. He's limited but has cobbled together a good career over a long period of time. He should retire now, hopefully.
Helenius only had 2 week sparring camp and was prepared for 8 round fight. While Joshua was all prepared for 12 rounds.
Helenius did not take a dive nor did he lie down. This isn't like the 1950s where the mob controls betting action on HW fight and wants a fighter to be stopped at a specific point in time. If Helenius was going to take a dive, he would have done it early and went down from a lighter shot. He's not going to wait until bloody Rd7 and get genuinely poleaxed for his trouble.
Thought helenius fought a good fight tbh. The fellas 40 years old....coming in at a weeks notice. Was understandably tiring....before the knockout came. But up to that point considering the circumstances he aquitted himself pretty well. Could have well been interesting if he was signed to fight joshua 8 weeks back with a proper camp after watching that.
As I said above, I think there's 0% chance Helenius took a dive. But I do think it's possible that the Whyte fight was a sham and that they really did intend for AJ to fight Helenius all along. Right after the Wilder fight, Helenius seemed to uncategorically state that he would retire. But he somehow happens to unretire and take a tuneup just 3 weeks before he fights AJ? Helenius seemed to be in as good a shape as you could hope for for this bout. He scored better on the "eye test" at the weigh-in than he has in years. He's almost 40 and his gas tank was never better than average when he was a younger man. What we saw on Saturday night was a very reasonable outcome and, aside from getting lots of flack for not disposing of Helenius earlier, there wasn't any real pressure for AJ to do more than he did.

Szpilka went for a huge shot and telegraphed it enormously. He was probably feeling pretty bold given that all the other stuff he tried on Wilder seemed to be working.
