It's hard to become a body puncher when you have always been a head hunter. Then you have an elusive target like Usyk Infront of you and it becomes mucher harder.
He tried it in the eighth and ninth rounds of their rematch, and, shockingly (or not), that's when Joshua started to come on, because Usyk started to double over and try to protect his body. Then Joshua went head hunting again. Dubois should just work the body, work the body, and go to Usyk's head when he starts covering his body. That's his weak spot, apparently. It's not like Dubois is going to outbox him from the outside. Go to around the 6:40 mark in the highlights. This content is protected
Hopefully Dubois doesn't let Usyk mentally destroy him in the same way AJ did. I expect Usyk to have zero problems with Dubois, but I am very interested to see how he reacts to being outclassed, and if it will affect him positively or negatively for the rest of his career.
Correct. Most heavyweights are head hunters. If Dubois works primarily to the body, I'll be pleasantly surprised. But I'm not expecting him to. He'll be swinging for the head any time he has success. But the body shots are probably a good way to get in the fight and stay in it. And the head shots will open up if you can get Usyk bent over protecting his body.
They’re doing the right thing. He’s not going to win a technical boxing match with Uysk. He needs to use the Chisora game plan of attrition pressure, not giving Uysk time to think and focus his attack on the body. I don’t think Dubois has the ability to pull it off but he’s doing exactly what he needs to have a chance.
I fully expect that Usyk,s IQ will play a big part rather like the Gassiev fight but with a mid to late stoppage over Dubois .
Easier said than done. I think Dubios is just going to revert straight back to default after two rounds like Wilder did in his 3rd fight against Fury. Usyk is just too good to lose to Dubios, but hopefully it's a competitive affair.
Easy to look good hitting pads against a stationary target, will be much harder against Usyk who will be constantly moving and firing back accurate counters. I've said from the start Dubois was overrated and I thought the Joyce fight would make that abundantly clear, then the Lerena fight again exposed just how basic he is, but no we still have people here championing him as some kind of threat to Usyk albeit a small one. I honestly don't even know if Dubois is prime Audley Harrison level or prime Danny Williams level. He's that basic and unproven at this level. If he wins more than two rounds that will be him over achieving in my opinion. This fight is a mismatch, Helenius had a better chance of beating Joshua than Dubois has of beating Usyk and I gave Helenius 0% percent chance of beating Joshua.
Lol at the highlighted bit. Just no. The arrogance comes from this attitude of yours that you present the "go for the body against Usyk" as it was some type of revelation. Do you think coaches and boxers don't know this? Somehow, it still doesn't happen. Why do you think that is? Why do you think that even Beterbiev, a monstrous body puncher and the guy who made Usyk take a knee in one of their amateur bouts, couldn't do it again and again successfully? You do realise that Beterbiev (once again, a prolific and monstrous body puncher) himself said that he knew what he had to do but he found it extremely difficult to successfully land the shots as Usyk's movement and defence is second to none? Nobody claimed Usyk was unbeatable. No unbeatable fighter ever existed, there is at least one style or one fighter out there who has your number, no matter who you are and how good you are. But once again: to me, it's astounding when random guys on the internet try to suggest they know better than professional fighters and coaches. It is common knowledge Usyk can be hurt with a body punch. It has been common knowledge for the past 15 or so years. Fighters know it, coaches know it, Usyk himself and his team know it. But then again: instead of presenting it as a unique and never-before-thought-of idea about Usyk and body punches, why don't you think about why still nobody was able to at least score a knockdown against Usyk using body punches as a professional, let alone beat him with this strategy? After reading your "coaching tips" for Usyk's upcoming opponents, I feel inspired to come up with some theories myself. There was this Usain Bolt guy who allegedly was a pretty handy runner. But I don't know why all those losers competing against him failed to follow this simple strategy: at the start, quickly get ahead of him, and then your only job until the finish line is to stay ahead of him. So easy, and all those losers couldn't figure it out for so many years, lol. TL;DR: knowing what to do is totally different and very far from actually being able to pull it off.
No. Dubois has never been a good body puncher and he is not able to place the shots so they do damage. And he won't be able to change this in less than 1 year He will maybe try it in fight, realise that this isn't working and then chasing the head again
