I know it can be argued that Ali was taking it easy at the beginning for their rematch, but even at 37, Floyd’s retention of his hand speed was just as amazing as his actual prime hand speed.

I watched their rematch a few times and I am convinced that Ali “felt” a several of Floyd’s sizzling combos - the very reason Ali stepped it up quickly to get Floyd out of there - and it was by way of a very bad cut, not by way of a KO or even a damaging KD.

prime sugar shane was fast as ****
    Roy
    Camacho

Floyd had lightening fast single jabs, lead left hook, straight right to the head and body.

There's different types of speed. Throw Neesham into this category.

Marvelous Iron, I saw that fight live on ABC's Wide World Of Sports, the accumulation of blows that Muhammad Ali landed on Brian London left him lying in a heap in the corner, Ali was very very fast.

During my sweetspot in the early 80's Howard Davis Jr was considered the fastest guy in boxing with SRL getting good reviews as well. Camacho came along and challenged for top spot and Meldrick Taylor after that garnered the most praise. The fastest three heavyweights around 82-83 were considered to be Holmes, Dokes and Page. Tubbs came forth a touch later.

Ali was insanely fast before that as was SRR. Pep might match any of them and RJJ was inhuman at times. Hearns within his own style and build was like a snake. I thought Mosley was lighting and Mayweather was no slouch either.

Camacho at 130; SRL at 147; RJJ at 160; Pacquiao at lighter weights; Howard Davis Jr as an amateur lightweight

12 punches in 3 seconds, and not arm punches that just look flashy, full damaging blows from a heavyweight

I would say SRR also did not engage in arm punching and his speed delivered maximum damage with it, Patterson and Tyson as well

Don't forget about the first Sugar Ray! He threw fast, explosive combinations.

    Andy Ruiz Jr.

Let him get next your loaded up plate and there will be nothing on it by the time you look down.

Sugar Ray Leonard was about as fast as anyone in history and the total package

Having said that Floyd Mayweather Sr was faster...if you haven't watch his fight with SRL it is good but FMSr lacked power and ring control

Hector Camacho was screaming fast and FMM jab is a blur

As fast as many smaller fighters are Mike Tyson had matching speed unbelievable as to how fast his hands and feet were.
