There is a photo of Marciano taken after the Louis fight Rocky is minus his top front teeth. Klompton states this means Louis knocked them out. I say Rocky wore bridge work before the fight and the teeth were already missing. In his autobiography Louis never mentioned knocking out any of Rocky's teeth, and in the many post fight comments he made neither did Marciano refer to it. Biographers of Louis, Richard Bak, Randy Roberts ,and Art Rust do not mention it,neither do boxing writers Red Smith Jimmy Cannon , A J Liebling and Peter Wilson who were all at the fight. The film of the fight does not show any bleeding from Rocky's mouth, nor does the commentator mention any damage to Rocky's mouth.Everett Skehan and Mike Stanton both wrote biographies of Rocky, neither mention Louis knocking out any of Rocky's teeth. What is your opinion? Have you ever heard of this happening during the fight?
Never heard this, if it did happen it had to have been a jab Joe 's right hand was absent for this fight.
Nobody's ever heard of it, and that includes 5 biographers of the 2 men and several top boxing writers who were ringside.
Yes I'm disputing it, and I shall continue to do so no matter how many senile, grandad, old fool, comments he throws at me.What he isn't throwing at me is any proof that Louis did it!
It may very well be! I respect his knowledge, but not the man, he isn't infallible, and on this occasion I believe he is wrong. If he proves me wrong I will happily admit it publicly on this forum.
look at the pics of Marciano after the second Charles fight where he is smiling with the huge nose gash, this happened after the Louis fight, he definitely has some damage to some of his front teeth but none of them are knocked out, there is an area that looks uneven like maybe he had some broken teeth and a dentist had filed them to be more even or something, this could have happened during one of his pub scraps in the army
His two incisors look longer than the rest. As far as I am aware he only had one pub scrap whilst in the Army, and that was in Wales. He did beat up and rob a civilian in his home ,but didn't take any punches in return.
So probably just the way his natural teeth formation looked with his smile, there could also have been facial/mouth swelling post fight
Mcvey is lonely now that his boyfriend Mendoza no longer posts here. He wants me to take his place. Not gonna happen. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. The photos show his teeth broken, which even you admit. You say nobody mentions Louis knocking his teeth out. Ok. Does anybody mention his teeth ever being knocked out? EVER? You yourself said he has bridgework and that he had it before the Louis fight. Where is the evidence of this? You stated that categorically but now you post here trying to enlist help bolster your argument? Pathetic. Either you have the proof which resulted in you stating categorically that his teeth were knocked out before the Louis fight or you were just popping off. We both know you were just popping off but sure, go ahead, get all the help you need little man.
You dont think I should ask the forum ? You stated categorically that Louis knocked out Marciano's teeth, you said so several years ago,but you never offered any proof of this. What I want from you is that proof. As to Mendoza.I rip him a new arsehole everyday on another forum. You do have one thing in common, a phobic hatred of a particular fighter, for him it is Jack Johnson, for you it's Jack Dempsey. I started this thread to see if there is any information out there that has gone unnoticed,[ I don't need help dealing with a self absorbed, conceited wind bag], not to have another silly tit for tat with an egomaniac. If you have nothing to offer in the way of proof why don't you jog on. Unless you want to type some more insults about me being a Grandfather and being in my seventies? If you do, fill your boots, you poisonous little toad.
