I see Dubois going 4 rounds in reasonable comfort, that's the usual amount of rounds Usyk takes to get the measure of his opponent, then punch accumulation starts. Usyk finds the angles, adjusts foot work as required and then pulls him apart. Similar to AJ fight.
Agree and I like the kid. Usyk is slippery like a fish and dangerous for any fighter. USYK by TKO round 7
Dubois's greatest issue to me is that he lacks any elasticity in his hips. It's worse than Joshua, even. So he's always squared up and has to expand a lot more energy throwing regular shots than other guys. Stiff fighters can be somewhat successful at HW, but against an elite opponent it catches up to them. The only way this fight will have competitive tension is if Usyk has gotten old overnight. Which definitely is a possibility, so I'm looking forward to it.
It's not about commitment or the willingness to take a risk, it's down to positioning. Joshua was forced to constantly reset and so wasn't able to throw and Dubois will likely have a similar problem as his footwork is worse than Joshua's. If he can't set to throw because Usyk is always one step ahead then Dubois will likely face a similar predicament and be unable to mount much of an offensive output.
C'mon Usyk might have great footwork but it's not superhuman to the extent that his opponent can't throw punches. It just means it's difficult to land clean and possible to leave yourself open to counters.. something Joshua wasn't willing to commit to. If you want to keep jabbing waiting for an opening and go safety first then yeah you will constantly be reset.
If you think Dubios somehow has more of a chance by being a sitting duck you're going to be in for a surprise.
I was talking more about the 2nd fight, in the first fight Joshua came in with an idiotic game plan that's true. He was never going to out box Usyk from range. But in the 2nd fight he did try to be more aggressive but it wasn't enough and he couldn't mount much off an offence because of the difference in footwork.
That's exactly it. Joshua did some good head movement, good footwork, backed Usyk up against the ropes then just stood there looking at him, didn't throw anything. Usyk can be hit. At some points Usyk was walking straight in behind a jab and a counter right hand from Joshua was on, yet Joshua decided to take 2 big steps backwards. If your not in range then you can't throw a punch. Simple.
Going a few rounds getting whacked solely to the body by someone like Dubois is going to take its toll at some point, i don't care who you are. I am a fan of both, but i would not write off DD so soon either, every man can be beat and Usyk whilst more skilled can be gotten too like any other man. I agree 100% that DD should target the body and then switch it up later on, the upset would not entirely surprise me.
This fights going exactly the same way as the bellew fight nailed on. If uysk wins is he going to want 6/8 months off to get a cycle in or will he be willing to fight January for a fury megafight? Or if DDD wins are we going to see a rematch?
Man hope you ok , although it sounds bad. Try yoga , meditation and stay positive . Think about Tyson and what you mean to him when you feel down.
