I think what's evident is that Matchroom now, do have a bit of an unfavourable rep when it comes to fighters having to sign multi fight deals or else. They always used to have a mantra that we only work with fighters that want to work with us and that every fighter we have, loves us. Think that's got lost somewhere over the years since other promotors are now offering them similar or better deals, Matchroom have had to resort to using trusty old lawyers to firm up their position against these fighters looking to leave. Exactly what they used to insinuate about Frank Warren. Also that old funny line Eddie used to trot out. Go and have a look at all the promotors in the world and then come back and sign with us. Yeah that's not really working anymore.
He said that UKAD will likely appeal, which they have. All promoters do this though. PBC only work with fighters on multi-fight deals to keep things in-house. Frank Warren had Zhang signed since Zhang beat Joyce. It's common practice. McCaskill has said somethign defmatoruy and obviously not true. How would Matchroom force VADA or another drug testing agency to tamper with the results? I'm sure Matchroom's lawyers will have something to say to her regarding her comments. I can't think of one example of a fighter signed to Matchroom failing a test apparently because their contract at Matchroom was coming to an end, which is what she was claiming - anyone think of an example?
No i get it but I feel like fighters are actually going out to see what other promotors are offering now and actually signing with them. Matchroom as a result, get salty. They're no longer the fittest bird in town.
Matchroom used to say they told boxers to speak to everyone else, then come back. It doesn't suit them when boxers do it in the middle of their deals. If the boxers doing that are breaking a contract then no problem, they're in the wrong. If the other promoters aren't helping to buy those contracts out, that's bad. But Matchroom shouldn't get salty if people want to survey their options at the end of a contract.
Nope, Conor hasn't been cleared by UKAD. In fact they are appealing the decision to let him fight again along with BBBofC And yes Eddie was declaring the nightmare was over as Conor had been cleared and not under a jurisdiction either In other news from home Tony Bellew is still a massive bellend
He's currently clear to fight. There's no disputing that. Cleared of PED abuse? No verdict yet. Able to fight? Let's find out when he schedules one. No doubt "boxing politics" would be blamed if he's prevented, but maybe governing bodies and commissions don't fancy falling out with the BBBoC.
Hope you're having a great time out there Astro. Conor's not been cleared, and BBBoC are appealing the decision (that didn't really clear him anyway). Eddie's done an interview saying we should feel sorry for Conor as he's had to spend lots of money on legal fees. It did make me chuckle. Bring us back a fridge magnet Astro
I'll do that Eddie Hearn must have invested a lot of money in Conor Benn since he is trying every possible method to get him back in the ring.
And another thing this lanky fack keeps repeating which none of the mongo youtube journos pull him up on.. Con Bent wasn't cleared by UKAD. NDAP asking UKAD to lift the suspension does not in any way shape or form mean he's been cleared of taking clomifene.
Sounds like it helps produce red blood cells, says it increases endogenous production of EPO basically.
I personally think it's about time Chris Eubank Snr dusted off that sheriff's badge of his and starting kicking down the doors of boxing gyms up and down the country getting to the bottom of this sorry mess. Once you've been visited by the Sheriff you'll have no choice but promote clean boxing.
Hearn has intentionally mislead people since the outset regarding Benn's positive tests, even to the extent of claiming it was not a jurisdictional technicality that 'cleared' him recently. Hearn took the gamble the reason would not be made public and he saw it as his opportunity to create his own, favourable to Benn, narrative. Oops Eddie, the reason has been made public and your lie is now public as well.
