Ring IQ, speed, footwork, and defense go to Usyk, hands down Marciano owns stamina, workrate, heart, and power. Marciano defense underrated, but Usyk is a known wizard.. Chin: only one has gone down and that was Marciano who handled both flags KDs quite well. Usyk has a solid chin, but if rattled, has the knowhow to stay away to gather himself. Rock just comes back, maybe grabs for a moment. I think Rock could be dropped in this one too , but not for good. . I think if Usyk could capitalize if and when he gets Rock hurt BEFORE round 10, Usyk could get the TKO.. Gotta take Rock after that by UD or TKO. There is the blood matter; Rock cuts. Could be a TKO in modern rules, which the Charles fight would've been stopped for vs Charles in 1953. Very intriguing fight for me! Can the Rock corral the elusive Usyk and punish him into submission or will the Ukrainian pound out a tough tough win vs the Rock?
Saying Usyk has a better chin than Rocky isn't very serious, but then he surely has weak body which is a huge plus for Rocky. I take Marciano in late rounds (13-15) by some TKO or KO. He will probably lose more of the rounds by that moment. When knew he was losing on points, he always unleashed true hell over his opponents, that is why even Usyk outpoints him, I don't see him winning. Rocky's defense is indeed underrated due to his awkward style, his entire game is so because of that.
I would have picked Walcott, Charles and LaStarza against Rocky. Maybe Moore too. I would have been wrong. Frankly Usyk seems a step too far for the Rock, but, I could be wrong again.
That is what I am always saying about Usyk. Which is fair enough - being great at not getting hit. But it has nothing to do with the blinded fangirls' statements about his "tested iron chin'.
A crowding, invading force like Marciano would be a bigger test than hulking Anthony Joshua. For sure
If we are talking CW, when Usyk was 200 pounds, then remember what Usyks face looked like after AJ part II. His face was marked up pretty badly, meaning AJ in fact actually DID hit and land on him more than a few times. If Marciano lands as much as AJ did, then he wears Usyk down and wins a UD. AT CW.
