I know he got his chin cracked by Mosley but that was when he couldn't use the plaster. The version that fought Cotto walked through everything and had less mileage. Could he survive Crawford long enough for his gloves to solidify and cheat his way to a win? Or will Crawford plaster him too fast too quick? Or will it be a beatdown UD like Pacquaio?
That's an interesting fight, that was the killer Margarito before the wrap scandal. You'd have to give Margarito a chance based on his size and punch resistance, but that version of Margarito also had endless stamina. I favor Bud off of his skills and natural athleticism, but if he can't hurt Margarito, it would be along night for him. That said I favor Bud by UD, he's the better all around fighter.

Crawford busts him up easily. I never believed the plaster stuff, Cotto just wilted. I dont see Bud having that problem.
Cotto wasn’t moving as much vs Shane as he was vs Marg. Cotto being a sore loser doesn’t help his case either. But, maybe Marg was cheating but who knows.
There was another fighter that fought Margarito years before who had a piece of his ear detached. Where did Margaritio have this power and where did this power go?
As great a fight as that was, probably my second favourite victory of all time, Williams and Mosley showed that peak Margarito was far from unbeatable.
Margarito would have been competitive against anyone but I think Crawford would have won this very clearly.
If you believe he had plaster look at Cottos face after the second fight. That was a past it margarito with one eye.
