Yeah. And it's really not that controversial.

    Eurasian slickness.

Bivol said that his father would beat him up, if he even got hit in the head, no matter how good he was winning the fights.

That's why he is like that.

Good boxer but overrated just because he beat Canelo who is garbage at 175, and Zurdo who was always crap.

His defence is impeccable. Best high guard I've seen since Winky Wright, keeps his chin down, great awareness, always circling off the line, rarely stationary and like all the best defensive fighters uses his defence to frustrate his opponent to open up and then counters them.

Only other fighter who's as good defensively is Shakur Stevenson but Bivol proved his versus better opposition.

Only man that might break his defence is Beterbiev who I think has the style to give him problems as he likes to exchange and throw when you throw which is the only time Bivol might be vulnerable to getting caught.

We know that Soviet Slickness and Eurasian Slickness, like Cubano Slickness which has Soviet influence, Japanese Slickness and of course the mighty British Slickness and Cossack Slickness, the later of which also is a variant of Soviet Slickness, are the gold standard.

And we know that Biviol is a Eurasian King and is built different

Serge told all the sceptics and casuals that Bivol was one of the best defenisive boxers in the sport but, once again, they said he was a lunatic and they tried to lock him up in an insane asylum

Serge also told them that Bivol isn't a just a beautiful boxing defensive master but he's also tough, got a good chin and despite being a gentleman and a scholar is also a real dog too

He's actually getting hit a bit more than normal here but you can also see how adept he is at blocking shots on his arms and gloves, his physical strength against the bigger Pascal, and how he's intent on making sure his opponent understands who the boss is going to be. Pascal is feisty too but Bivol refused to allow him to ever get the upper hand or to be the boss. Same goes for Clenelo and Zurdo too

The title is misleading as it's just HLs of the Pascal fight

Honestly I can't get behind praising him right now. He's spent 6 years as a title holder alongside Beterbiev and hasn't faced him yet whilst Beterbiev has unified the rest of the division.

Don't get me wrong. Barrera, Chilemba, Pascal, Smith Jr, Alvarez, Ramirez. All good victories and against a wide spectrum of styles.

But we can't ignore the elephant in the room and that is he's pretending to be a champ on Beterbievs division.

In the same timeframe Beterbiev has beaten Cloud, Page, Campillo, Johnson, Gvozdyk, Browne, Smith, Yarde and has unified 3 titles.

So sorry Bivol, but if you wanna be recognised as a champion you need to make the fight.

While you make fair points regarding Bivol's resume, the thread is really about his defensive technique not about his accomplishments ...

I couldn't agree more that we need to see Bivol vs Beterbiev.

    I'll give it shot.
Joe Smith, regarded as a predictable slugger, landed and hurt Bivol and if the round didn't end quickly after, likely would have had Bivol in serious trouble or even KO'd him.

Not true, it says he's the best defensive boxer.

To be the best you have to be proven at the highest level.

    Shakur Stevenson's defence is better.

    Comp-U-Box supports that, if just.

    https://beta.compuboxdata.com/

Overall plus-minus: Stevenson #1 at 20.3, Bivol #2 at 17.3 (sandwiching David Benavidez at 17.6)

Opponent fewest punches per round landed average: Stevenson #2 with 5.5 and Bivol #3 with 5.9 (both surprisingly trailing Boo Boo Andrade at 5.4)

I don't like compubox stats, if I'm honest, but it's interesting to me Benavidez is on there.

Shakur might go down as the goat.
