The ever so dangerous Pacquiao & to think he had so many of these kinds of top quality performances against opposition in their primes or close enough to it, crazy.

Not so sure about that. Pac never destroyed Marquez and Crawford is a longer and more powerful version of Marquez.

Beat Marquez so bad the first time that they needed everyone around to convince that he even came close to having a draw, so laughable,

Then the second fight he get's stunted & dropped, lucky for Maqruez he had the ref & those ropes holding him up which btw should've also counted as other knockdown,

Manny being so generous because in reality Marquez never even deserved even a third attempt, lucky for him he got that & another bonus shot after, how fortunate for him.

Manny is an ATG at 130-140.

Nah…he may win, he’s an ATG, but he isn’t “destroying” Bud.

Gamboa rocked him and EK dropped him. Prime Pac's precision blend of power, speed, agility, and angles would overwhelm Crawford.

What? Being a good counter puncher doesn’t make Crawford a “more powerful Marquez”.

When have you seen Bud throwing combinations like JMM? On the other side of the coin, I’d say Bud’s defense is more varied… anyway, they’re not very similar..

I’d even question that he’s more powerful. Yes, he’s the naturally bigger guy - but Bud doesn’t have the eye-popping knockouts over quality opposition that JMM does at the weights they both fought at. (Juan Diaz, Pac)

Beat Marquez so bad the 1st time ? Keep dreaming. Yeah Pacquiao had a dominant 1st round, but Marquez proceeded to out box him for the majority of the rounds after the 2nd.

2nd fight ? More people thought Marquez won it than lost it.

    3rd fight even more controversial.

4th fight ? Pacquiao face down on the mat looking like he was in a homicide.

Marquez is a certified ATG and it's not crazy to say that he's a Top 5 All Time combination puncher and a Top 5 All Time counterpuncher.

He's fought 3 ATGs whereas Crawford's fought 0 ATGs, 0 elite fighters, and his biggest win is the drained and near death Spence.

Check out Crawford’s ko record at 147 versus Marquez. There is no way Marquez is stopping Horn, Spence or Porter. As for combinations, sure Marquez is a better combination puncher but Crawford’s counters are harder. Crawford is also quick enough to keep Pac in front of him. Crawford would probably stop Pac at 147.

Beat Marquez the first time? Why, because he knocked him down 3 times in the first round? He lost almost every round after that, and was rocked many times by Marquez along the way.

Good post and I cant say you’re wrong for saying Bud would probably stop Pac at 147, although I couldn’t say someone would be wrong for having the opposite opinion either.

Those are definitely durable guys who Bud “STOPPED” but that’s not the same as knocking them out - and this is where I was saying I don’t think it’s a given he punches harder than JMM.

Like I said, when I first thought about it - I thought yeah duh Bud hits harder….. but then looking deeper, im not sure.

JMM has some highlight reels KOs over quality guys at weight classes they’ve both been in that Bud does not have, even if they’re lower weight classes.

    Compare their welterweight resumes:

    Marquez

    Floyd (144 catchweight) - ATG
    Pac 2X -ATG
    Bradley - ATG
    Alvarado

    Crawford

    Horn (robbed Pac)
    Benavidez (one-legged)
    Diaz (bum)
    Dulorme (bum)
    Avanesyan (bum)
    Kavaliauskas (bum)
    Khan (shot)
    Brook (shot)
Porter (lost every big fight except for Danny Garcia; gifted a win against Ugas was contemplating retirement)
    Spence (deathly drained)

Marquez is one of my favorite fighters, partially for sending Pac towards the light in their fourth fight, but to say he has a better welterweight record than Crawford is nuts. Crawford is undisputed and beats everyone of Marquez’s opponents at 147, probably by stoppage. Except for Mayweather of course.
