I grew up outside of NYC & moved here before Giuliani even ran for office & he did do well by selecting a police chief Bratton that used modern methods, stats & crime mapping & held police accountable.
However he also increased NYPD abuse, furthered racial divisions, violated civil liberties & was never a good person, in his personal life or an enlightened politician.
He was beloved after 911 when we needed a leader...But he was responsible for placing the whole anti-terrorist unit in World Trade Center building 7 where it was destroyed-against advice.
Then tried to violate the law by staying in office, as if only he could fix things...

Later we saw some of the naked narcissism greed for power & heedless ambition when serving as a constitution-destdaining toady for an even bigger Monster, Trump.
Most New Yorkers have & had sense, but for a while things were poorly managed...

Maybe a false memory but after Atlas pushed him didn’t George make some crack about Atlas getting him a burger?

The reinvented Foreman was/is a very cool character. I never was much of a fan of Atlas.

Found a clip of it but it's one of the "shorts" so it won't embed, Foreman says "go get me a sandwich and sit down", and Teddy only gave him a little shove on the shoulder, it looked like a prefight press conference, it was probably just to create tension and hype

That’s it! That’s what George said to Atlas - classic stuff.

That’s the dude who claimed his dog told him to go and out kill.

Always wondered if it was loose parody on Sam Berkowitz when Zoolander’s Mugatu issued the hypnotic instruction “You will obey my dog”. Lol.

What if George Foreman used his punching power for evil?

There is a netflix series where some people claim that Son of Sam was satanist...
    Foreman is a preacher....
In a era of gimmick boxing fights a Foreman vs Son of Sam fight would be easy to sell.
Put Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckenberg in the co main event.

Joe Frazier for one might say there was a time when George did use his power for Evil. Later, when it was to fund his church, Foreman had a righteous justification for punching people’s lights out. It’s always the thought that counts. :D

Imo George has class and I know he is not that guy but it would have been nice to see him knock Teddy into oblivion.

I have to agree with @Pugguy and say I never liked Atlas and he really hit an all time low for me when he lifted the Willie Bag concept pawning it off as his own.
When Teddy signed a contract with Everlast making a ton of money calling it the Teddy Atlas Willie Bag I thought poor Cus is probably turning in his grave right now.

I do know Title released the Cus D'Amato Willie Bag some years later. I'm not sure which one is better but out of pure principle I would go with Title.

George was psyching Teddy and Michael out and Teddy likely thought he'd try to do something to reclaim ground for his fighter ... that clip always cracks me up because while Teddy is a truly tough street guy you see George measuring him , playing laughing it off but also making sure Teddy doesn't get carried away or Teddy would have been carried out ... Fat burger eating George was still killer , just ask Gerry Cooney ....

Does anyone know why Foreman lost his gig as an HBO fight analyst? Was it because he argued with Larry Merchant? Or because he seemed to go off the deep end over the decision at one of Oscar De La Hoya's bouts?
