Lewis knocks him out soon, cold.

That's all he had was size, he was slow, uncoordinated, had no defense, and a weak chin, and you want to put him in with Lewis? He got beaten to a pulp by puny Dempsey.

I think Willard turns around and jumps right back into the time warp after seeing Lewis across the ring.

 

Thats what I say. If Jess can throw a hard overhand right he may lay Lewis out cold, it happened before.

 

Ty Fields would beat Willard.

 

Under the old rule set in endless rounds Willard has a chance to exhaust him.
But not too much, Lewis was stronger & the leaning on a past prime Johnson would not bwork so well.

And he was not the kind to lay out a top fighter; but given the 2 lapses of The Lion I can see the temptation to cite this possibility.

UNDER a rule set & distance Lewis was unfamiliar with & did not TRAIN for, I give Willard maybe a 20% chance.
If Lewis can practice under those terms, up to 5%.

Under a neutral rule set, half of that.
Under the rules of today, 1%.

That is the absolute best I can do for Willard.
And that would be at his peak, the dissipated by lethargy Willard vs Dempsey would have almost no chance, 1% at best, under his own rule set, against Lewis for most of his career.

 

Willard likely loses to Michael Grant.
