That was a shocking upset but it wasn't the two best fighters who were prime, trained and focused to beat each other. Tyson probably walked into the ring from a cocaine binge and an orgy and still gave a decent account of himself.

It was definitely a great win. Duran taking SRL 0 probably the greatest win ever for me though

Nahh! It’s a good win but I’d put LaMotta beating Ray Robinson above it. DEFINITELY Roberto beating SSL in Montreal

Yes Hearns and Benitez were more skilled than Ray but Ray`s amazing handspeed made him one of the most dangerous fighters of that era.

I know that but the poster had stated that take away Ray’s speed and he was trash, there was more about him than that.

punch for punch, I'd say Hearns is about the same speed but packs more power. 8 times out of 10, Hearns would have won their fights but Ray proved his greatness in snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

    I can't agree with that.

It was only Ali's third fight after a three and a half year layoff.

Ali beating Foreman was a bigger win.

    I didn't say it wasn't historic.

But you're kidding yourself if you think a three and a half year layoff wasn't a major factor.
