When will this "bloated" nonsense stop? You are known to taking digs at Usyk, but try harder, mate. Is that the best you guys at the Fury club can come up with? Usyk has always been almost too big as a CW. At 199-200, he was shredded with a full pack of abs. He always struggled to keep his weight down at CW levels. Heck, he fought Joyce as a super HW way back in 2013. If anything, the guy is more of a natural HW than a natural CW. I remember well when you Furyettes used to call Usyk a weight bully at CW. Now he is bloated and just a pumped up CW at HW. Which one is it then?
Usyk just weighed in at 220.9 lbs (100.2 kgs). Dubois weighed in at 233.2 lbs (105.8 kgs). So Usyk is at his normal weight in the division. Also, 12.3 lbs of difference in the heavies is almost negligible. Whatever Dubois and his trainer thought, he won't be able to just bully Usyk around.
Only 5 kilos weight difference, is that a big deal? Dubois has a bigger frame so they are like equal. Usyk is 6’2.5 - 6’3 Dubois is 6’4.5 They are lean at their heights. Usyk is like a bridgerweight guy in terms of weight/size in the modern scene. Dubois is a legit heavy, though many guys similar to dubois walking around at CW makes you wonder how painful their cutting is. riakporhe Okolie Jon Jones in MMA
Kind of equal in weight for their heights. But we can't measure it this way - both rely on different assets and Dubois is probably stronger, but not that fast. I never liked when people use height advantage by fighting below (for some even way below) their natural weight. Usyk did so at cruiser. Always thumbs up for those braver to fight above that - the bigger guys.
Usyk in optimal shape would be 210lb or less ie what he weighed at CW. He can carry an extra 10lbs and still be fast but he does start to look a little soft at that weight and he's not as fast or fluid as he is at the lower weight. And obviously he's fighting much bigger men at HW who he can afford to lose a bit of speed against. Anymore muscle or bulk than this will only detract from his speed. That's his optimum weight This content is protected
Usyk looked every bit his age standing on the stage during the weigh-in. His middle looked soft, if nothing else. If Dubois can dig body shots, and he can take Usyk's return fire (not sure about Dubois' chin), we could see a good one Saturday. Lots of questions will be answered. I'm looking forward to it. As always, I hope it's a great fight, regardless.
The people who said Usyk was too small for Heavyweight are crazy. The guys almost the same height as Dubois.
Lol. A guy with an external oblique definition visible even in direct sunlight ( = no deep shadows cast to make it appear more defined than it really is) is "old and soft". I knew some people were desperate to see Usyk age but I didn't know it was this bad.
Usyk looks his age. His body resembles Ali's before the first Spinks fight. https://s3.amazonaws.com/icptmsdata/2/0/1/2/2012_96_18_449648_displaysize.jpg We'll see if Dubois attacks the body like "Neon" Leon did. We know how Usyk fights. He's an exceptional boxer, but he's an aging boxer. There's no denying it. The question will be can Dubois rise to the occasion and elevate his own game to the next level. Or is he no better than his recent performances.
After all those boxing trainings, if he still has a flabby tummy it means he's old and his body can't burn fat in certain areas anymore. Or, he doesn't train as hard as he used to because he got old and he got tired of spending hours in the gym. Either way: he is old.
