Ref has completely given up on cautioning for fouls. Adopting a stance of "keep it under a certain threshold, boys" - like how there's an acceptable limit of rat feces allowable by the FDA in cornmeal because it's just expected it'll never be zero point zero.

 

At first I thought maybe the ring surface was wet and slippery but really I think these guys just happen to have the balance of baby giraffes in stilettos.

 

This is at times like watching an old Three Stooges era short showing boxing through an absurd lens, like when the tall guy drops his gloves by his sides (but keeps his elbows hiked up to his armpits, like a chicken or a T-Rex) stomping after the shorter guy who is backpedaling like a cartoon to where you half expect his legs to meld into a single wheel, only for the little fella to uncork a right and bop him on the undefended face and causing it to crease with a "hey, can you believe he did that?" expression before they clinch.

 

I think Lara got rocked there by a grazing left cross while skirting the ropes, but instead of showing the replay in slow motion a time or two like normal, the weirdos at Shuan decide to just yo-yo comically between fast-forward and rewind so he's bouncing from vertical to horizontal over and over.

 

Thing about the Dominican Republic is, they're on my time in Boston, aka New York time, which means it's nearly 1am there and we still have possibly (hopefully not) a co-main event of Franklyn de Paula Vásquez vs. Jeifry Juan to get to before Rosa vs. Pino ...poor crowd won't be having an early start Saturday morning, that's for sure.
