Usyk is a small HW and was an average sized CW. He has put on a lot of weight since he moved up, and at his weigh he looks very soft.
He has huge reach in the ring.Hands of 190cm with 198cm reach are longer then 198cm with 198cm reach. That's more important then these 6, 7cm more height for others.
Usyk is the same exact size as Ali. He isnt a small man of course. Its just compared to 6'6/6'7 guys he is smaller but his size wont prevent him from beating these guys up. Usyk does feel like he isnt a natural heavy though. Like if he stops fighting and eating like a pro he drops below 200 lbs. Where a guy like Foreman who is like the same size in the 70's looks like he definitly belonhs at heavy.
There is much in(s)anity in even understanding basic things like size. Sure for a HW of the last generation/this century Usyk is on the small size. But he is not only way larger than an average man-& bigger than most HWs until about the 1980's... He effectively has at least around as much muscle per square inch as "giant" Fury! Who has much more body fat. AND I do not like that many only worship extreme gifts like size. Is it not impressive how Usyk developed such skills, is so tough, & all without hitting hard for a modern HW? No indication Usyk is a PED cheat either. MUCH more impressive if he is natural & opponents are not. WOrks really hard, high volume puncher, represents an oppressed nation fighting for its very survival against a Monstrously inhumane, civilian torturing & massacring opponent... The average American man is almost precisely 200 lbs. But at Usyk's body fat level-& while not ripped, he he not "soft" unless you wanna compatre him to bodybuilders... They would weigh an average of at most 170 lbs.at Usyk's BF%. That is being generous, more like 160... Usyk has tons of virtue, work ethic, toughness & developed talent from a staggering amount of boxing experience. Can we not admire likely the greatest CW ever when he takes on such a challenge?
Dubois will show tonight why these puny cruiserweight 's can't trade punches with these enormous fat beer bellied behemoths. I'm not including Joshua, he juiced up to heavyweight. Usyk will be left a crumpled heap ringside. With Warren dancing over him, with his betting slip.
What I really dislike is this overarching theme with Fury fans like yourself who keep demanding what non-Fury fans will react upon certain match results but at the same time: 1) they never ever offer anything in return 2) they keep doing it even though the topic has been discussed and they got their answer previously to the very same question You asked me this in December and I already told you: And I also said it on other occasions that: And: So, for the umpteenth time: no, if Fury (or anyone for that matter) beats Usyk, you will never hear me saying it was because he was old or small or whatever. Even though Fury is obviously trying to age Usyk, I reiterate: if Usyk himself steps into the ring, that means he doesn't think he is too old, too small, too whatever and all is fair game from that point. And now let's turn the tables because as I said you guys in the Fury congregation (you, @DaRealJT and the other usual suspects) always demand answers along these lines but never offer anything in return (funny that, that's how Fury conducts his fight negotiations too - birds of a feather?). If Fury ever finds his balls to face Usyk and Usyk batters him into retirement, I assume there won't be any "oh, but his men'al 'elf" or "oh, but Paris is pregnant again, he is distracted" or "oh, but his 87th kid had ebola during camp" or the same old Fury faithful excuses from you guys, right?
Lol. I don't know how old you are, mate, but I just turned 40 recently and I think I speak for a lot of guys aged 35 and over when I say that I'd like to have a physique looking "very soft" like that.
Well Usyk has not done too bad in the heavyweight division for someone who is too small, Holding the IBF, WBA and WBO Heavyweight title belts sure sounds like quite a affirmation of his capabilities.
Me: Currently active HWs either lighter or shorter than Usyk: Chisora, Ruiz, Wilder, Lerena You: You only mentioned Lerena, hah! Brilliant, mate. Absolutely brilliant.
He's a smallish HW by today's terms, which is why he fought at cruiser his whole career basically. Otherwise he'd have fought at HW, where the big money and glory is. It gets complicated because there are all these fatsos at HW now, who are his size or smaller naturally speaking. But they basically don't dominate even if they get some good wins. They are too small for the huge HW's. Basically all the cruisers could fight at HW and do okay, but most would lose to the top SHW fighters or even decent ones. At least that's what they must think, because otherwise what are they doing? the fact Usyk had to 'bulk up' to be around 100kg and still be a little pudgy suggests he's small for a modern HW.
