That wasn’t low, with all due respect to everybody. It’s just not, fandom is the only thing that would make someone say it was. I’m indifferent on both guys, no dog in the fight, that’s not low.
Usyk took plenty of bodyshots in that fight and while he clearly didn't like them, they didn't stop him Fact is, that punch was low and the ref made the right call - granted not deducting a point was pretty weird All of that said, Usyk definitely piled on the pressure to stop the fight early. This is the first time he's had to dig deep since the Briedis fight imo
It's below. The meat of the punch, the outside lower right of the punch, is clearly below the belt line. Freeze the frame. It's clear. That's a definite low blow.
Usyk's belt line is above the belly button Dubois landed clear as day right on the belt line not below it......a clear body shot KO end of. The way Usyk reacted wasn't that of a low blow it was from a body punch.
I don't really care who won and thought this: grnated I havn't seen 10,000 boxing fights but from what I've seen, any other time the boxer would shrug it off near the lower tummy and the ref would say keep em up. This is the first non-nut shot that completely floored a guy for about a minute. Guy was hurt and it wasn't his nuts. So what hurt so bad if it wasn't winded?
Correct. Just like he claimed low blows several other times during the fight. And the ref didn't buy it.
LOL Usyk got KFTO but was saved by a corrupt ref. If nothing else this should put to bed any idea that Usyk is P4P.
Very controversial. One thing I must say: through the years we've seen much lower and much worse shots where the referees were closing their eyes and the fight continued. Not sure if we either got too used to the idea that u need to be dick punched in order for it to counts as a low blow. For sure we should not deny the following: even if it was not a low blow - Usyk played it amazingly well and forced the referee to rule out the low blow. He immediately grabbed his balls and definitely influenced on the decision of the ref. And there is not VAR in boxing yet so... this all happens quite fast. The rest is history.
