Maybe he should have not worn it so high to avoid that injury. The fact is that the belly button was somewhere behind the belt line.

That's why guys like Fury put their shorts up to their ears Usyk's face reaction is nothing we didin't see after a legal blows that hurt and they want to make a referee to count it as a low blow, happens so many times.It was not a low blow, but i guess Usyk would have recovered..or maybe not.Who knows.

 

This angle is not the best. From the angle posted by OP you can see it never hits the balls during the upswing.

 

I respectfully disagree that this is a “blatant low blow” and low in any context and whatever…I can’t tell if you’ve just dug into the position and won’t relent, or if there’s an emotional investment. I didn’t want to get in to it because it really doesn’t matter and I like you as a poster and rarely do we disagree.

That picture that you keep saying demonstrates “point of impact”, is a blurry frame that doesn’t show “impact”, it shows at that moment for that fraction of a second his hand was near the trunks and low, maybe it made minimal contact, maybe it didn’t, but from the other view it’s pretty clear where that punch lands, not sure why you discount that and just focus on these stills that look like they were taken with the camera that filmed the JFK assassination. I respect your position but to speak in definitive terms is just a weird take to me, respectfully.

 

His legs were paralyzed too for a while, it took him about 20 seconds for him to move them. A good body shot will do that.

Usyks belt is quite high covering his belly button and I think this was not a lot blow but a legitimate hit.

Usyk not the first time sus to faking low blow.

 

Only casuals would say it was a legal blow

 

Good thing the ref had slow motion, frame by frame vision built in to see that "low" blow.

Or maybe what had happened was that Usyk was kicking ass and was sexually excited like Nikita and his wiener was just under his belt and then Dubois hit him there at the right time.

Or it was karma for Usyk always using the "belly" insults and then the boxing gods thought to show him if it wasn't really funny.

 

When Usyk gets up and stretches his bellybutton peaks out from top of trunk. So blow was well below his belly button. I don’t think the shot caught him in the nuts. But by letter of the law it was clear low blow. Usyk’s trunks were not that high up and zero part of Dubois’s gloves even touched flesh. It was all beltline and below. Ref made right call but their have been much worse low blows than that one
