    Ridiculous Bowe's whole career was low blows, rabbit punches, and various other fouls. In all sports the rules don't apply to the favorites.

    On the belt line in the previous gif, what angle did the reff see it at?

    It was a low blow, definitely. And I was supporting Usyk. But it is interesting to wonder what happens if that punch is
    a) not deemed a low blow by the referee;
    b) a few inches higher.

    Usyk was very hurt, in a way we've never seen him before. If a) occurred, and he'd been given a count, would he have got up, and would he have lasted the round? I feel Usyk is probably tough enough to have got up - I doubt there's much quit in him, though seeing him in such discomfort was uncomfortable viewing. But give him the benefit of the doubt, he makes it to the end of the round and recovers during the next round. The outcome of the fight stays the same. Maybe.
    If b) occurred, do those few inches make a huge difference? Would he still have gone down? Difficult not to imagine he wouldn't have. He may have got up quicker, it may not have hurt him quite as much, but given how much the punch that did land hurt him, I can't imagine the punch wouldn't have knocked him down if it were landed legitimately.

    None of this is to say that I dispute the punch being a low blow. It was, I think. Usyk - probably my favourite current boxer - won the fight. But it does make you wonder about the slim margins of boxing, and if the whim of fate had gone a slightly different way, could we have seen Usyk handed his first professional loss by Daniel Dubois?

    Usyk has been 100% punched in the nuts.

    If you can’t see that then your eyes are painted on.

    If that punch lands in the midriff then Usyk probably doesn’t go down.

    The fact that it got him square on the dick is why it put him down and took him a while to recover.

    and it was definitely below his belly button

    the whole "belt line is fair" is only when a fighter is deemed to be wearing his shorts high... that's usually how its always been

    let this "controversy" rest

    The champion having to pull up his shirt to show the boxing fans why it was a low blow is why we don't deserve nice things.

    And another one for the trolls claiming Usyk trunks was high, which is complete b.c., as his trunks are always quite low, unlike Dubois and most other fighters trunks positioned super high:

    Boxing is the only sports where this things are even mentioned, and rules are constantly being bend, cause of bias, aka "A" side, etc, etc.

    You don' see this s**** in MMA. There is a clear rule, and when you bent it, you are punished, either DQ or point away. You get 1 warning, at best 2, and then it's a point deduct.
    Rules should be something that is 100% followed.
    Punches behind the head, lowblow, even if it's a 50-50 lowblow(This wasn't a 50-50, but a clear one), should be called. Holding and constantly clinching and leaning on your opponents foul should be called, and the sport needs to be cleaned.

    But what do i expect from people claiming Fury victory over Cunningham was legit, where he should have been DQ for using illegal elbow/forearm to set the punch ....

    Here is a little quote that put more into it:

    Whole Dubois punch was on Usyk shorts, not a single part of it even touch Usyk skin. How is some trolls on here consider this a legal punch is beyond me ...

    It doesn't have to mean that everyone is a hater. People were simply ignorant. My thanks to @lordlosh for contributing to the overall objectivity. This is my first and last post on the "low blow" discussion (on all threads).

    It doesn't have to hit skin, since the belt-line is legal.
