Great fight. Normally I would say Holmes wins but there is a reason I think Usyk can win.
Reason is that Usyk is a southpaw. Southpaw style takes away the jab which is Larry's best weapon. Remember the stories about him dominating Wlad in sparring, another great jabber.
Holmes never faced a southpaw either I think. And his only ko losses in the amateurs were to southpaws.
Usyk also isnt small. He is similair size to Larry who is naturally bigger though.
Holmes isnt Dubois or AJ though. He has a lot of heart and would definitly bring the fight to Usyk.
Would be a great fight and I could see a ud either way.

It's so weird to see people being absolutely clueless about boxing history on a boxing site.

Seeing a factually so wrong comment under a Daily Mail article or a FB post is totally normal but around here, lol.

Holmes was 6'3 and around 210 in his prime. He weighed 209 when he beat Norton, 210 for both Shavers bouts and was 211 when beat Ali. How on Earth is that "too big and strong" for a 6'3 Usyk who was already 212 lbs in 2013 when he dominated the WBS scene? He only ever got down to around 200 following that - and even that was only 10 lbs lighter than what a prime Holmes usually weighed. And as a HW, he is around the 221 mark.

Seriously, how did you pass basic maths at school, mate?

It’s another fantasy match up so down to peoples personal opinion on who wins, all I will say is that Holmes was a very good fighter who imo does not get the credit he deserves .

Probably a competitive fight but i'd favour Holmes mainly due to his speed and jab.

Holmes is a natural heavyweight not some blown up cruiserweight, thus bigger. He had 44 KOs at his natural weight class, thus he’s stronger. Usyk wasn’t known as a KO artist at his natural weight class of cruiserweight…What don’t you get? Holmes has a longer reach with an excellent jab. He would smoke Usyk…You’re not very smart like you think you are…

Lol. Holmes was lighter with the same height so he was bigger... Excellent logic, Sergio. Just excellent. No doubt a credit to the educational system of your native country.

As much as I like Usyk, and I like him a lot, his biggest achievement in HW is 2 victories vs an overrated as F body builder with no heart and zero ring IQ.

Today, I say Holmes. If Usyk manages to fight fury, wilder and maybe joyce, zhang or any other HWs better than shot to pieces chisora or useless dubois.... I can change my mind, why not. But I dont think that Usyk has many fights left under his skin, specially fighting once a year.

Usyk's prime was as cruiserweight before the age of 30. He is a tougher test than any man Holmes faced during his championship run.

    Honestly hard to say.

Usyk has AJ, Chisora, Dubois and Witherspoon as his HW resume.

It's quite thin, but does Holmes actually have a better victory than AJ? I'm not convinced tbh.
