Indeed. And in hindsight, the Wilder test applies... Wilder ran a ****ing mile from Pov the moment he got an easy out, never to go anywhere near him again. Whereas Ortiz despite doing damage still didn't scare Wilder off a rematch. That should say a lot about the gaping chasm between the two.
There was no narrative, I think you have been looking for these comments. Barely anyone in the UK thinks Joshua could have won that fight. You can find a comment about anything if you want to. Usyk got tones of praise by the Uk fans, pundits and ex fighters. This is a fact. Did a UK broadcast analyse why one of their fighters got beat? Of course it’s a UK broadcast. The last part about what if Usyk was bigger has nothing to do with anything so I will leave that.
I'm not going to keep repeating myself any longer, mate. I watched this all transpire in real time with my own eyes and spoke out against it many times at the time and subsequently since the fights. I never denied he received praise by many but many of the same people were also pushing that narrative. He's a good or a great fighter but but but. Aj just needed to be more aggressive and he would've won. That's what we saw an awful lot of
i will make this my last response. I genuinely have seen no such narrative. I actually think the narrative against Joshua in the UK since his Usyk losers have been a little cruel considering all he did for UK boxing. Most fans/pundits/pros in the UK don’t seem to rate Joshua at all anymore
Usyk has a lot of fans on here, and we know how that goes. The way Usyk complains about low blows (that aren't) is John Ruiz-like.
Like I said, I've seen tons of it. I find AJ very fake and his disrespect after the rematch (his tantrum) was disgusting but I still defend him when I feel the criticism is too harsh and I always have. He's an excellent fighter and has achieved an awful lot.
I thought the top of Uzyk’s trunks were right at the belly button not higher like some fighters. That said, I thought the punch was low. When rewatching it today, I noticed no one in the Dubois corner, including Dubois was making a big deal about the referee’s call during the timeout and between rounds. I think they accepted the call until they started talking after the fight. It appeared that Dubois could have gotten up before the 10 count and maybe the complaints were a way of distracting this possibility.
Nobody can take away Joshua’s achievements and in a relatively short time frame as well, yes he’s fake, yes that tantrum was a disgrace and never seen the likes of it in Boxing ever. A definitive stay at home Champion with only one win outside of Britain. But the way in which Joshua has seemingly capitulated since Ruiz 1 and then the two Usyk defeats is certainly a strange one. I honestly see no improvements at all since the Mcracken split and if anything he has become more hesitant which was never part of his game, however the pundits call it patience and a new measured approach which it’s not its hesitancy due to a complete lack of confidence. It’s like the new trainers are trying to correct parts of his game but at the expense of the good parts of his game like measured offence and aggression,it’s certainly strange .
Lol they are different people. You just don't wanna add him cause it goes against what you think, so you want it to appear like there's loads more people saying it wasn't low
The Olympic gold medal was bogus but he did win silver at the World Amateur championships losing on a razor-close decision in his opponent's backyard and when you look at the overall quality of his opposition amateur and pro it's very good. He's looked very tentative indeed since the Usyk defeats and he needs to regain his mojo ASAP
Serge that’s just it,without a doubt Joshua has the history and achievement’s behind him but his mojo has just GONE ! Joshua does not even look like the fighter he once was,it’s certainly like I mentioned a strange situation .
It’s not dumb its the truth it wasn’t blow blow. I would take the opinions of fighters and champions at that thats been in the ring as good source’s than ctscot who has a hissy fit if you dont agree with his opine. Man boobs beat aj better tha usick to the body with diarrhoea did.In a single fight.
The narrative is clear: the pros who say it was legal are idiots, and the ones who say it wasn't are cool and more pro. The fans who say it was a legal blow are Fury fanatics (regardless that some of them are not or even like Usyk), the ones who say it was illegal are cool. And those who claimed the Church was wrong in some of their beliefs were easily anathematized as blasphemers and burned. Good we slightly evolved. Obviously not that much, but at least we are not burning people for telling the truth.
