With Fury, anything is possible. Anyone who wonders why Fury is so changeable and seemingly impossible to pin down, should watch the Netflix Fly On Wall series. filming him and his family. Most of it is boring af, imo. I skipped most and watched a few bits, But it is a real insight into Fury, his impulsiveness, volatility and maddening unpredictability. Interestingly they asked him and his wife what was their favourite bit of filming the series, Furys answer 'getting paid'. He could decide to retire, fight Usk, fight in WWF, move house, go on holiday....etc etc....all in one morning. Suffice to say, his wife doesn't have it easy.
The biggest fights in the world £/$ wise at heavyweight are simply: fury vs uysk (European and to some degree america TV rights), aj vs wilder (UK and small america TV), fury vs aj (UK TV and a massive stadium probably Wembley which has a provisional booking for boxing in august) and arguably the biggest fight of all money wise is fury vs zhang for obvious reasons. So I'm expecting to see the fury/uysk and aj/wilder fights on the one night in Saudi as speculated or maybe on a 2 night main event thing with possibly zhang vs hrgovic on the undercard if zhang walks through joyce again. That will be no doubt followed up with aj vs fury in August and a winner of the zhang hrgivic fight vs uysk or wilder building up hopefully to the fury vs zhang superfight with probably the largest TV audience ever.
We've had reports of talks for a unification fight between Fury and Usyk for nearly a year now and we are no closer now than before. Talk means nothing, I'm sick of all the talk, won't believe it's happening until contracts are signed and even then something could scupper it.
I watched a bit of it,his wife certainly does not have an easy time dealing with him and his erratic behaviour, yet she seems to know him better than himself .
"Being planned for" is not a real update. Nothing against the OP, just tired of these guys talking about something that *might* happen.
Fish eyes said the exact same thing after the Chisora and we didn't get the fight did we? Arum is the only one who can make the fight happen, but he seems to have other plans with Top Rank and doesn't want to deal with Fury's shenanigans, which is understandable.
The fight won't happen. Usyk won't vacate, neither he should, as Fury will duck him again. Fury has done his part. He had almost a year to make the fight, and lost everyone time, just now to fight the allmighty and unbeatable Ngannou. The fight won't happen any time soon. Hearn already state that he Hrgovic is next, and he won't step aside. On top of that Zhang/Joyce is next. Fury ain't stupid, as he knew all of this very well. He and Frank played they part perfectly. They may eventually decide to fight Usyk, when he is 38+ years old, and a shadow of himself. I hope Usyk retire way before that, and Fury legacy will be worst than Bowe.
Hrgovic would take step aside money. It would be close to what he gets paid fighting Usyk, plus he’d still get the shot later. If it’s Fury, he probably makes more.
All of these guys will say anything at any point and none of it means anything. It is just a bunch of people trying to position themself for the most leverage and you can't actually take any of it for face value.
If the Saudis want to do the fight it seems highly unlikely that they are going to allow Hrgovic to be the reason it doesn't happen.
I am not arguing that one bit. All I am saying is that nobody should accept statements made by boxing promoters as truth.
