Usyk vs. Ken Norton

Who wins in a fight?

 

Hmm. Deserves some thought.

Imo, Ken was a very good boxer and unless his opponent hit like King Kong, Ken exhibited a fair degree of resilience before he would come apart.

Ken was also intelligent. When he fought the cagey and elusive Young, Ken stuck with a sustained body attack rather than head hunting - which kept him in the hunt and won him the fight.

As much as Olek might be tricky for Norton, Ken would also provide his own obstacles for Olek to try and overcome.

Yes, splinters in my *** as I currently sit on the fence.

50/50 matchup that I favor Norton for even though I feel like it'd be a hard fight to score

 

It's a good match. Usyk is no puncher and Norton would put on a good show with him.

 

Like Kenny here by decision maybe.

 

I don't know what people see in Usyk. I am not impressed with him at all. I pick Norton by decision.

 

Norton by stoppage in a 15 rounder, Norton had a superb jab and Usyk's power doesn't threaten Kenny at all.

Norton stops him in a 15 rounder Usyk has no power to stop Norton coming at him for 15 rounds, and let's not forget Norton is a good body puncher which Usyk is very suspectible to.

Holmes and Ali were alot more resilient to body punches aswell especially Ali.

 

Tricky for Usyk stylistically. Crossguard closes a lot of angles slicksters tend to get sneaky punches through.

 

Kenny too relentless over 15. He’s no Joshua/Dubois/Chisora worried about their gas tanks. Would be a great fight though.

 

I would pick Norton but I don't know how he fares against a top tier southpaw.

 

I favour Norton by decision.I feel the judges would favour his heavier punches

 

Not to debate if it was or wasn’t - that’s been done to death on the other forum but simply curious if you thought it was either low or legal Mc?

Personally I’m good with it being deemed low but that’s just my opinion.

Though, I will say, some extra? stomach crunches wouldn’t hurt Olek - he’s looking a bit softer than usual in the belly area.

EDIT: I don’t how I got the bouncing emoji at the top of my post - I don’t remember clicking on that. He’s nowhere near the green smiley emoji I did intend to use and inserted at the end of my post. With all that, I’ll let him stay - I don’t think I’ve used him before.

 

I do think it was a low blow, but I've never thought Usyk was this monster who'd wipe the floor with Foreman, Liston, etc. That Liston-Usyk thread was downright laughable with Usyk basically sweeping the thread. Nice to see the overrating, has come down for the moment.

Another thing, I've always thought a pre-Ruiz Joshua would've beaten Usyk in the rematch. He hasn't been quite the same since then, and has been scared to really let his hands go since.

Those body shots he landed were taking it's toll. No idea why he just abandoned it.
