If some young guy beats Manny Pacquiao, say, in the Gold Medal final, how big of a boost does that give him to start his pro career?

Everyone would certainly be watching ... and it would make global headlines.

Would be quite the accomplishment! Would not mind seeing him give it a try!

This reminds me of Wladimir Klitschko a few years ago.

I wonder who holds the record for the oldest Olympic boxing champion ever.

There used to be a maximum age for fighting and it was lower than that. That's why Stevenson and Savon retired from Olympic competition.

But maybe it's higher, now. Who knows. I don't really follow the Olympics like I used to. They seem to change their rules (and what even qualifies as a sport) before every Games.

    I don't think it's fair personally and I thought cut off age was 35 ? Unless I'm mistaken ?

Why should Pacquiao be allowed to compete in Olympics?

Pros can compete. I think the age is the big question mark.

Jalolov was a pro before the last Olympics, where he won the Gold.

Three, three minute rounds, might suit him well.

Pros should not be allowed to compete in Olympics boxing which is for amateurs.
