Wilder via brutal KO in a slugfest.

I'd like to add, if I were in Williams corner, this is one of the rare instances, where I suggest he uses his boxing skills like he did against Machen and Terrell. Wilder is one of the VERY few people with more power than him, and though Williams' chin is very underrated imo, Wilder's is even moreso. I wouldn't advise Williams to get into a slugfest..... which is exactly what'd he do.

Time and time again when Williams had his man hurt, he'd go in for the kill, sometimes prematurely. This is what got him stopped against Satterfield (though he was green and a last-minute replacement) and Liston.

Williams is going to have to take out Wilder early and I just don't see that happening.

Certainly. It'll be similar to the Foreman-Lyles fight, but probably even crazier due to how Wilder fights

Williams clashed with a bigger hitter than himself - Liston. Wilder would be second, but the result would be the same.
    Slugfest.

I think Cleveland has better boxing skills than Wilder but then who doesn't? It's whoever lands first.

I think Deontay Wilder needs to be the heavy favorite. But Cleveland Williams was a very tough and game contender. He traded at point blank with Sonny Liston and even had him hurt. He fought in nearly 100 fights and accepted a fight with anyone who was put in front of him. Survived multiple gun shot wounds to resume his boxing career. A guy like that needs to be taken seriously

Williams much the better boxer. That said his defence wasn't that great and if it becomes a battle of the chins then Wilder has the edge there. Wilder also has the power edge. Williams needs to jump on Wilder before Deontay can get comfortable and land his big thunder first. He can't let him off the hook. If Wilder lands his big thunder in return Williams is in deep trouble. I think Williams could do it but I'd have to favour Deontay because of the simple physical edges.

Cleveland Williams was a very tough contender prior to Nov 30 1964 when he was shot by the Texas State Trooper.
