Liam Mark Smith vs. Christopher Livingstone Eubank Jr. II & Mark Heffron vs. Jack Cullen RBR.

Ok mate. Did you want to see this fight after the first? If so what’s the difference? You’ve said yourself Smith was seemingly injured. Why isn’t that more of a reason for a rematch than someone kod in 4?

 

Looking at your name I’m sure you remember Froch Groves. Groves won at least 14 of them 17. Means nothing unless you have an agenda.

 

Not really, it was a hardly a high quality fight. I only tuned for the slim chance that Eubank would get sparked again because his arrogance is irritating. I dont watch much of Liam, he's solid enough British champion but well over rated at world level and past his prime. Add to that he's dull as dishwater in the ring and has the personality of a wet flannel

A rematch just isnt needed. They fight another 10 times and Eubank wins 9 of them. There is always a change smith lands a beauty but he'd need another elbow first

 

You should watch more he’s a quality operator and you’d know that tonight was just a million miles away from himself. He may have got old overnight which I know can happen but would be surprising because I think he’s looked superb in his last 5 fights or so. Even the Munguia fight he lost he was good his power let him down. He battered that Russian and was robbed.

Dull in the ring? I know you are entitled to your opinion but he’s game as they come throws head body combos for fun wears people out and finishes them. What’s dull about that? If he’s Mexican he’s lauded.

There was no elbow. I’ve watched it about 500 times looking for it. Eubank is virtually gone off the straight right hand anyway.

 

Smith has only fought 2 world class fighters in the last 10 years, Munguia and Canello, and both of them made him look out of his depth. You could argue that Kurbanov is close to world class but hes still a level below and Smith couldnt beat him either. Everyone else he has beat has been domestic level. Ive watched most of Liam and Callums fights, I just dont get to watch as much boxing as I would like nowadays so Ive become a bit more selective

 

Was at the fight today.

The fighting in the arena was the worst I’ve seen. Constant fights breaking out all over during the main event. At one stage people were getting thrown down a flight of stairs. It was really bad.

Good knockout by Jack Cullen. After he’d had a shower he was walking through the crowd with his British title letting fans take photos with it. Thought that was nice.

Clarke vs Allen was terrible. I’d been looking forward to it as I always like the heavyweights but it was dire.

The Azim fight was very dull. Everybody just wanted it to end.

Great atmosphere before the main event and during the fight itself. Eubank received a lot of boos walking in but a huge reaction when he won. I thought it was a great performance. Wasn’t clear in the arena Liam Smith was injured.

 

Manchester fights do get a bit rowdy lol. First big fight I ever went to was Eubank Sr v Benn at Old Trafford in 1993. It was carnage on the way out and outside

What were ticket prices like? Im hoping to get to a couple of fights over the next year now Im back in the UK

 

You just said you don’t watch much of Liam. I don’t rate Callum too much to be fair. Bit of a weight bully but Is solid and heavy handed with good fundamentals as everyone from that gym has. Liam wasn’t out of his depth agaisnt Munguia or Canelo in my opinion he gave them great fights both didn’t respect his power which was big deal. He couldn’t miss against Munguia in particular.

Compare this toEubank who ran away like a journeyman agaisnt Groves was kod heavily agaisnt Smith and ducked everyone else.

I havent watched much of his fights from the last 10 years but prior to that I watched pretty much every top 10 British fighter fight. I saw Eubank 1 but that wasnt for Liam. Saw the Vargas, Kurbanov, Munguia, Canello and Mark Thompson fights but none of his others

Im not saying Eubank is supremely better. Im just saying Im not interested in Liam anymore. He's well passed his best and has no title fight future and he's dull and uninteresting to me. Eubank may have a world title in his future, though its far from certain. He does have potential and a higher potential ceiling than Liam. Whether he reaches that potential is doubtful because he usually has a shitty attitude but he was honest and humble tonight and thats a good sign
