He was moving and bouncing fine at the start of the first but by the end of the first he was dragging that front foot like it was a wooden leg. Not sure if it was a pre fight injury that didnt bother him at the start of he twisted / rolled his ankle in the first. Watching it live I thought I saw him stumble and roll the ankle but just watched the first again and I didnt see it

One of the guys in team Smith (tall ginger guy) was mouthing off and shouting at team Eubank and demanding someone step outside (Come Ed). In response, one of team Eubank then responded with "calm down, calm down, calm down" in a terrible mock scouser accent. The old shoulder chip then kicked in like Here's Johnny in the thread last night

Liam Smith dealt with it with class though, walking in and calming it down ironically

 

When I heard the calm down bit, I was half expecting to see Harry Enfield wearing a black curly wig and shellsuit.

Ha mate yeh you've got your own chip about scousers that's obvious, sorry your experience there wasn't good. You kind of did imply that but anyway

 

If you look at the first knockdown he went down awkward on his right leg I think it was his leg folded from the shot then he basically put all his weight down on it when he hit the deck. Looked a sore one, bit like when Froch folded groves in half in the second fight.

How does last nights win boost Eubanks standing amongst this forum? Surely now even the naysayers must give him his due. Smith and Williams are two solid wins from him in his last couple of fights.

 

Golovkin is 41, why would you wish to see that?

I don't think Smith is very good. He is one of worst world champions I can think of. He is definition of a belt holder or paper champion. I think Eubank is better, more talented, but Smith's lack of sophistication and such basic style means Eubank was looking better than he really was. Smith was lucky in first fight. When Smith family leaves boxing, nobody will miss that (except local people in Liverpool).

 

I heard weeks ago he would be carrying an injury into the fight, how true it was I didn't know, after watching last night it seems like an accurate piece of info.

On paper the win should boost his standing but look at the bigger picture and I think you could pick a dozen fighters who would have done the same to Smith last night , he was a sitting duck and basically a punchbag for 10 rounds and imo didn't come close to winning any round.

 

I'd like him to pursuit a world title shot rather than calling out the likes of Benn and Golovkin. If Yarde can make me do a full 180 then I don't see why Eubank can't.
