 Jesus wept, Olu! He was clearly severely compromised by it and whatever else was affecting him.

I expected him to lose by KO, and instead he won every single round in a one sided fight.

He's an *******, but I dont like excuses, he definitely won the fight in a one sided beating. Ankles or no ankles.

Comparing what I expected from him and what he actually did, yes, I'm impressed.

He's a way better fighter without all that RJJ BS. (Plus, I think that injured Smith would have mauled RJJ's Eubank anyway. I think Eubank has definitely improved)

It's always good to see a boxer improving, even if he's a con (I meant "idiot", I thought we could use "con" as "idiot" in english, it seems we cant).

Maybe if he had some self-discipline and lived like a proper athlete he'd have fared better.... How many people do you know who yo-yo 3 stone like that? No sympathy.

Yeah, I do agree. It's true that Smith looked very bad but it's also true that Eubank won every minute of the fight. Which is exactly what he should be doing in that situation.

If you drop 42lbs quickly at that age of course you look shocking on fight night - Eubank looked right because he prepared right, Smith looked awful because he prepared badly, and on it goes.

Like I said I don’t believe or accept excuses. If there are legitimate excuses you keep it to yourself and exact your revenge in the rematch. That’s my view anyway otherwise whoever it is excuses come across as weak.

I agree to an extent, he did have a back injury but 42 lbs is a lot for someone his size, you can maybe get away with it in your 20's but as we've seen with other boxers it catches up eventually, I don't know why they do it to be honest as half the camp get's wasted just dropping the weight.
I remember seeing Ricky Hatton back in the day in Manchester between fights and he looked like a butter ball.

    Yes you do, Olu

That's all well and good but CEJ and his legion of fans don't want to afford Smith the same opportunity to avenge his loss to CEJ like Smith did to him. That's weak.

Smith for one reason or another, looked like and fought like a completely shot fighter. Whether that was because of injury or turning old overnight I don't know, but he looked like garbage. Credit to Eubank because he can only fight the guy in the ring with him and he avenged a loss, but I didn't come away thinking he is a world beater

No I don’t make excuses. When my boy EJ lost I have not made a single excuse just looking forward to the rematch so h3 can reclaim what he lost. I am sure we can get a trilogy down the line if Smith wants. CEJ did no5 say No when asked, his response was if the fans want he is good to go.He is looking to take Lil g’s belt and Conor Benn.

Yeah you do but you just try not to do so publicly on here.

And you tacitly make them when you pick Spence to avenge his loss against Crawford even though he got completely outclassed, looked completely clueless and bereft of ideas, exposed as not belonging at that truly elite level (top 5 P4P), and it was an absolute biblical ass whooping. You secretly believe there was something wrong with Spence and that that will be proven when the real version shows up for the rematch.

It's the same reason you picked AJ to beat Usyk via KO in the rematch after Usyk completely schooled and outclassed him in the first fight and after picking AJ in that one too. Usyk proved himself to be the far superior fighter despite having the deck stacked heavily against him.

Neither CEJ or Smith have proven that yet because they're 1-1 and Smith was honorable enough to rematch him and afford him the opportunity to avenge his loss.

Smith could've said sorry, Chris, but I'm in the twilight stage of my career and I knocked you out in 4 rounds and I'm highly ranked by the sanctioning orgs and I'm moving on with my world title aspirations. CEJ should afford him the same opportunity. It doesn't have to be next but it's the right thing to do.

Olu, CEJ's fans are all over social media saying the rivalry is done and dusted and that Smith just got lucky in the first fight due to an illegal elbow whilst they conveniently ignore the fact it did nothing to him and Smith dropped him with a big right hand during the first phase of attack

And of course they coveniently ignore the fact that, unlike CEJ in the first fight, Smith looked an absolute shell of himself which if people are being honest with themselves, reluctant as the are to do so, is completely undeniable.

He shouldn't be calling out inactive 147 pounders and shot senior citizens who he wanted no part of a closer to prime version of and who would've violently sparkled him out cold if he hadn't lost his pen.

I don't even think GGG holds a belt anymore and he's 41 going on 42 and hasn't fought in a year. He should call out GGG's countryman the WBO champ Janibek who is always looking for a fight against the bigger names and fellow champs in the division. A fight against a prime reigning world champion at 160.

I actually agree he needs to fight Smith again, 1-1 doesn't look too good. Need a decisive winner.
I'd pick GGG to beat Janibek, but agree Janibek is the kind of guy he needs to be fighting definitely not Brook.

Benn is just a great rivalry and a must watch fight. Benn would put a pasting on Smith IMO.
Benn vs Eubank at this point in their careers is a 50/50. I'd pick Benn in the first 6 rounds or Jr if he makes it past them.

Jr looks weak at 160, needs to move up asap. Chin and power will be better for the extra weight, regardless of bigger hitters.

Yep, Hatton was an over-rated idiot as well. No discipline, just rode his luck until proper sportsmen sparked him out.
