I’m starting to think this isn’t happening anytime soon. There’s been no updates and each time Eddie Hearn is asked about it he says “we’re in talks”

They’ve been talking about this fight since early this year, negotiations apparently have been on going since April but no announcement at all.

    - It could be that they’re waiting for brits to get back from their European vacations.
    - Waiting for the Saudis to formally make the offers, even though Eddie Hearn lampooned Frank Warren for not putting an offer to the Saudis
    - The fight might be in breach AJs Dazn contract.
    - One of them may not want the fight

    Any information or opinions ?

Seems from the outside that the teams think the fight is worth far more than the Saudi’s are prepared to pay. They don’t just throw hundreds of millions at anything.

In 2018/19 it was a huge fight. Both are now at the back end of their careers with 5 defeats between them in 4 years.

It won’t happen. Matchroom and DAZN don’t want it to. It ends with Joshua viciously knocked out.

It’s still a huge fight but agree not as big as it was when both men were undefeated.

Saudi money is a myth, it looks like they are concentrating on cross over fights and influencer boxing.

Still think this is a pick ‘em fight, but I personally favour Joshua, he may even try to make it boring and box move rather than stand and fight. But agree there’s a high likelihood of AJ getting sparked..:

A lot of people are saying that Joshua and his team don't want it but we have heard nothing about negotiations or from Wilder's side. It seems like the Saudis are taking their time and money could be an issue from what was previously agreed when the plan was for Joshua vs Wilder to be chief support to Fury vs Usyk. The Saudis need to hurry or otherwise Joshua and Wilder will both fight at the end of the year.

We will soon be entering the 8th year that Joshua will be fighting Wilder "after his next fight"

This makes no sense. Negotiations occur once two parties are engaged. Joshua's side does not want to engage. We know that from Hearn.

How do we know this? Hearns expressed that he and Shelly are in talks.

How do you know that? Frank Smith has had meetings with Saudi. If Joshua and his team weren't engaging, do you not think Wilder and Finkel would be making noise about it?

Saudi money is a myth is a hilarious quote. I have worked with them for years and that is utter rubbish.

Sorry I meant “The Saudi Money” in the context of Eddie Hearn saying it and referring to the Wilder AJ fight. I thought it was obvious.

It’s a cash out fight for Joshua and Matchroom, hence why they’re begging the Saudi’s to pay huge money for it. If they wanted it that bad they’d just make it themselves what with all the delays, it’s not like they’d get peanuts for it.
