To me, that IS a ALL TIME GREAT win for Jones, convince me otherwise, but without using circular reasoning ("Toney lost, so since he lost he was not well and not in his peak, had he won the narrative would be different")

James Toney was the number 3 P4P in Ring Mag rating in 1993 and was coming from a knockout win!

Proof of him being "drained" if youre going this route, I gotta remind you though that Roy never fought again as a super middleweight either so... you know... it goes both ways.

It's an ATG win for Roy Jones Jr, and there's no excuse. RJJ defeated James Toney first, and that's one of the reasons why RJJ became what he is.

There you go. It's too easy to dismiss this win after the fight, skillwise there was nothing in Toney that suggests that he was not a great fighter in that night. He looked bad that night someone may say, but thats because it was Roy Jones Jr performing all time greatly.

What do you mean underrated, it is generally regarded as Jones best win. By the way, I remember the RING having Toney at number 2 pound for pound at the time of the fight.

And yes Toney was weight drained. He did not look well physically compared to other fights, his pucnhes did not look sharp and his conditioning was not good. But Jones can't take the blame for this.

You just underrated it...... "he didn't look well physically", neither did George Foreman in Zaire mind you. Neither did Ali against Frazier in 1971.
Neither did (insert any great win you like here and there is something to be said about it)...

We all know the "Fab Four": Duran, Leonard, Hagler, Hearns.
Roy Jones Jr, James Toney and Bernard Hopkins look like the "New Fab Three" to me (looking at their careers).
I don't know if I was the clearest... or if it's just my imagination?

It was hilarious when Toney made a face at him and Jones knocked him down.

Dude, this was the top ten middleweights as ranked by Ring in 1992. Has the division ever been more stacked? Those of us who lived through it were blessed.

Toney weighed 167 1/2 just 3 1/2 months earlier vs. Prince Charles Williams.

How the heck one can need to drain himself with such a short time off between fight and beginning training for his next bout is beyond me. He knew he was fighting RJJ next so if he was gorging on ice cream and cupcakes to the point that he had to drain himself, he can look in the mirror and see the culprit.

I don't underrate it. Many had it 12-zip. Incredibly dominant win over a very very good fighter.

Incredible speed and natural ability whooped a stand out technician.

James Toney was a very undisciplined. He came in for arguably biggest fight in Rahman I at a career high and fat 240 pounds. I agree that he has to take the blame

I do not underrate, these are just facts. It is still Jones his biggest win in my mind. Duran was not at his best for Leonard II, neither.
