Nah not a chance. Golovkin would jab his head off all night and create space to muffle Tiger's attacks. If Tiger somehow riled Golovkin up to turn it into a slugfest he might do it because he was extremely powerful. But I think GGG would be too smart for that.

 

I don't see that. Tiger had an excellent jab himself.
But had to use against much better competition, than
what Triple G. faced.

Foster wins any other verdict is just plain wrong

 

What ? Golovkin was better and beat them.. but it's not like the guys you mentioned were too hard to beat, let's be honest. Because they were punchers ?

 

That's what I was thinking but he's actually at around 174 for the Tiger fight which is more or less GGG's fight night weight. In actual mass these two are surprisingly close. Foster is however the rangier fighter in build.

Apologies for splitting hairs, but iirc GGG's reported fight night weights range from 168 to 173lbs. I'd guess Foster at close to c.180lbs on fight night in his LHW title defences. Foster was 188lbs vs Frazier, he was leaner, but a fair bit bigger, than GGG.

 

Of course I didn't mean it literally.
Curtis Stevens or Lemieux were good fighters but never stars.

 

Or good fighters. Just came along in a poor era.

 

Besides Tiger who was a natural middleweight what stars did Foster beat?

 

Not one better than Jose Torres , Rubin Carter,
Joey Giordello, or Nino Bienvienuti. whom Tiger
beat.
They have good looking boxing records because
its much easier to have one the last 20-30 yrs
than during Tigers era.

 

The fights that made Golovkin this overhyped fighter were against guys that nobody considered tough to beat. Try to remember, Stevens, Rubio and guys like that, they were not hard ot beat...
Golovkin was no better than Kelly Pavlik and still people hyped him more for some weird reason.

Bob Foster faced and beat some well stabilished contenders of his era, a guy like Piere Fourie was much better than anyone Golovkin ever beat.
