The main excuse would probably be that Fury's abused his body badly over the years and was a severely diminished fighter. I wouldn't make this excuse because if Fury gets in the ring with Usyk then it's implicit he believes he's going to win. Also, Fury's often been 20-30+ lbs overweight when starting camps, especially against fighters he took less seriously. Perhaps it catches up with him sooner rather than later but it's nothing out of the ordinary for him. It would be his own fault anyway and perhaps Fury's sloppiness has benefitted him in the past in various ways (experience in wars, making fewer mistakes in future, increases underestimation). I suspect there will be far more excuses if Fury wins though, that has always been the case historically. "Usyk was too old and worn" "The Ukraine war" "Fury strongarming Usyk in negotiations got to him" "Usyk had a bad camp, as he did against Chisora" "Usyk was too small and underpowered" "Fury roughed him up" "Usyk was never that good: Briedis went 50-50, Chisora gave him a war, AJ had been battered by Ruiz, Dubois KO'd him with a bodyshot"
He is a strange one. He randomly started mentioning me (and others) in unrelated threads trying to provoke a reaction, when I had never had a single interaction with him on ESB before at all. He clearly has some kind of obsessive personality disorder with the unhealthy amount of bitter threads and comments he starts. Best not to engage too much with these types of people, just leave them be.
Usyk himself is getting older, i've noticed his speed & faints have declined as well he also doesn't punch in combinations as much anymore especially after the first AJ fight, this fight is shaping into being more even based now as before, But i also know Usyk will train harder for this challenge & try to bring back what's kind of been lacking from him, as well as Fury going for his best conditioning because both guys know what's on the line if it were to happen.
Even if Usyk was young, Fury would take away the effectiveness of his feints. Usyk at heart is a pressure fighter who comes forward, high workrate and makes his opponent fade mentally then physically. Can't do that against heavyweights of Furys calibre.
Yeah i get you but we will just never know until these two actually get in the ring just for only the one time, There after we will be able to see, i mean Usyk or Fury could both surprise all of us & do the unthinkable, that's why they fight the fights, Even recently just by us watching what Terence did to Spence shocked around 75 - 80% of the public but before that i only saw a handful of guys predicting that very same outcome while the others had other opinions.
Nobody said otherwise. Of course he is past his prime and got slower. At 36, it's only natural for an athlete, even when they take care of their body. But Usyk is an absolutely horrible matchup for Fury stylistically. There's a reason why Fury has been avoiding him like the plague. Over the years Peter Fury as well as Shane and John also hinted at how or why Usyk is a concern. Obviously this was mostly before Usyk stepped up to HW and they had no reason not the be honest about him. All of this middleweight this, midget that is just hot air. Right before Usyk stepped up to the heavies, John Fury talked about what a "massive problem this guy would be" if he ever decided to mix it with the heavies. For all his embarrassing public displays and interviews, John Fury knows boxing inside out, just like Peter. They both knew for the longest time that Usyk is the one Fury needs to worry about. The only thing is, only Peter is honest about it these days. The point is, any version of Usyk beats any version of Fury. Of course, Fury has some chances due to his talent (because he is a fantastic talent, make no mistake), but Usyk beats him I'd say at least eight times out of ten. That's how they match up stylistically. Usyk eats big, heavy guys for breakfast, he has always been fighting them since his amateur days and the bigger his opponents are the better he fares against them. Fury, on the other hand, struggled against a former CW even when he was faster, lighter, nimbler and younger, and arguably lost to the last southpaw he faced. Usyk is just all wrong for him. That's why I'm not concerned about age or anything like that. Usyk has been taking care of his body. Whatever decline he has had since his prime, Fury's decline will always be much worse due to the way he has been abusing his body so age, condition etc. won't change the fact that Usyk comfortably has the upper hand in this matchup.
It's not really surprising that a Fury fanatic is lying through their teeth. "I had never had a single interaction with him on ESB before at all": Oops. And the best part? It was you who addressed me first, not the other way around. This was in last December. So settle down, mate. You did talk to me before our recent exchanges, and it was you initiating the interaction back then. In any case, it would have been idiotic to claim "momma, why does he talk to me when I didn't talk to him" on an online forum anyway. How do you suppose strangers discuss things online if, based on your argument, they shouldn't address each other without any prior engagement? But the point is: stop lying about you never having talked to me before recently.
Probably claim that Wilder hit Fury so hard, he started listening to demons and they persuaded him to take up drugs and alcohol again. Then they’ll start kissing Fury’s ass going on about how he’s the only HW in history that could have continued his career after taking those shots in the trilogy. Then they’ll say Wilder softened Fury up for Usyk. Then they’ll ****ing PRAY Wilder either stays away from Usyk so they can continue to push that narrative… or they’ll beg the almighty to help Wilder land a Hail Mary on Usyk and he’ll stay down. But most likely after Usyk KO’s Wilder after 6 rounds of embarrassment… they’ll say Wilder was never the same after the Gypsy Queen starched him.
So the claim will be that these two basically damaged each other for good, making it unfairly easy for Usyk? That's a very realistic assessment indeed.
"He was too small" Honestly this is what will be said when Fury bulldozes him down and people realize Usyk ain't this slick 220 pound Mayweather type character they make him out to be. Ring circling high guard, arms punches against Tyson Fury? soft body? bah no shot. He'll have moments he's a class fighter but not what he's made out to be. I'm happy that he got his paydays and that's it. 30 or 37 Usyk ain't touching Fury. Same way Wlad at 32 or 39 ain't touching Fury. People will be shocked and surprised...but in the wise words of Roger Mayweather may god bless his soul, Most people don't know SH about boxing. Bahha AJ & Dubious. Both of them together on crack don't make a fighter half of Fury.
Yeah man. I actually see them already started that narrative in spots in YouTube comments and other places. Making it seem like those two (Fury and Wilder) took years off each others lives from the EPIC CLASH OF THE BOXING GODS WARS they went through. I mean… Wilder yeah ok. The dude hit the deck face first after a ton of punishment. But Fury… nah. He’s fine. Showed it while battering Whyte and Chisora for the 5th time. And Usyk is older than Fury and has been taking shots from roided up Goons like Joshua and Dubois. But I guess his wear and tear doesn’t count. Usyk is PERFECTLY in his Prime at 36!!
Also when this gets signed for next year, which it will because i've been talking to my mate Muhammad over in Saudi who spilt the beans, I want a master ban bet thread, for the fight of the century which really was just a money grab.
