I didn't ask for well established contenders. I asked for stars.

You didn't answer the question because you don't like the answer.

Dick Tiger, not only a star but a Hall of Fame.
Oh c'mon, I don't like the answer ? You think Golovkin is greater, better, whatever you wanna call, than Bob Foster ?

At 3:00 they report Foster's weight at 173lb

That might be from an earlier weigh in. Not sure how many lbs Foster could put on in a few hours on same day weigh in. More than 180? I doubt it. Jacobs was over 180 against Golovkin.

So basically you're trying to shift the goalposts? OK.

Foster weighed 173.25lbs vs Tiger, at the official weigh in, likely late morning/lunch time of the fight.

Carlos Monzon was reportedly 168lbs for his MW title fights.

Why do you think weigh ins were moved to the day before? To give fighters that were dehydrating to make weight, more time to rehydrate. De and rehydrating isn't strictly the domain of the modern era, far from it.

Clearly increases in weight between weigh in and fight night typically aren't as extreme as today, but fighters were certainly typically heavier on fight night than at the weigh in, during Foster's day.

Most men Foster's size are naturally c3lbs heavier at night than before lunch, without any attempt to make weight. There's no way to know for definite, of course, but I'm almost certain he'd have been closer to 180lbs in the ring than 175lbs.

The threat of getting clumped with Fosters fist would put GGG into ultra defence mode.

When he's like that he can be out boxed and out worked. If he opens up Foster will catch him and you don't want to be catched by Bob.
The think with GGG is he don't transition offence with defence. Its either one or the other

I don't think GGG is greater nor am I a GGG fan. I was just calling you out on the star thing. You're making a big deal out of GGG not having any official wins over "stars" yet Foster only has one. Tiger is a great middleweight, he wasn't a great light heavyweight. Foster has no wins over all time great light heavyweights just like GGG has no wins over all time great middleweights. Neither of their resumes really impress me when compared to other ATGS.

Also it's kinda funny that the answer to my question of "Besides Tiger who was a natural middleweight what stars did Foster beat?" is "Dick Tiger, not only a star but a Hall of Fame."

So besides Tiger he also beat Tiger? Good to know.

GGG at his best was always above 160lbs. He’s been fighting LHWs plenty - what’s Danny Jacobs weight on fight night?

Not to be a pest but he weighed as low as 171lbs in the same day weigh in era - at the most after a light meal and some water he’d have weighed 1 or 2 lbs more.

Bob force fed his way up the totem pole when he went to HW. He was a rail. He drank pop and ate junk to try and get bigger - Bob wanted to be a HW.

I highly doubt Monzon weighed 168lbs in his bouts. He’d have put on 1-2lbs at most after a weigh in on the same day and it’d be because of a little water and a small lunch.

Well technically Golovkin fought his whole career at Middleweight and never fought above it apart from 1 fight in which he lost. And Foster is naturally bigger than Golovkin with considerable height and reach advantages.

It's also pretty hard to pick a guy who's 0-1 above Middleweight, and to expect him to move up two weightclasses and be successful vs a great Light Heavyweight.

As I said look no further than Dick Tiger to see what happened when a great Middleweight moved up and fought Bob Foster.

So you think MW today and MW then are the same in terms of weight? - that’s what you’re saying. Reread the post maybe. There are I imagine plenty of “ MWs “ who have weighed more than Bob Foster today. Thomas Hearns is also much larger than Mike Tyson with considerable reach and height advantages.
