Terms agreed for Joshua-Wilder fight, says promoter Eddie Hearn

I've been wanting this fight for years and years. It would have been unbelievable if they were to fight when they were both champions going for undisputed.

But it should still be a good fight regardless. These two are definitely very entertaining because of the power. Whilst an Usyk Fury match will be more about skill/defence and probably wouldn't result in a knockout.

A Joshua/Wilder fight will almost certainly result in a knockout one way or another.

I would like to think it will be a Wilder knockout win and quite early. I don't think AJ has been hit with anything remotely comparable to Wilder's straight right hand and his chin may not be able to take more than one of those.

How do you see this fight going?

 

It’s wilder and the pbc at the end of the day, so we still have to wait until the very last second for things to go bad

 

If this happens, and that's a big "if" I just don't see the new hesitant AJ winning.

Joshua has proven that when he goes against the deck he can get up and fight a war against Klitschko. Maybe it will take a knockdown to wake something up in Joshua. Or maybe he will panic post Ruiz.

Wilder has proven he can get up and keep fighting. And he is always dangerous.

Wilder brutal KO win inside three rounds,I will however believe the fight happens once they are facing opposite each other in the ring .

 

Wilder will keep coming & if by some chance AJ can drop him i'm not sure he will be able to keep Deontay down unlike the opposite especially with the fight happening now as in the past i thought that AJ would have beaten him, time changes everything.

 

Wilder has never actually faced a known puncher before. Who knows how he'll react. He could be the next Mike Perez where he 's built a reputation of knocking over journenmen and then when he faces an actual puncher he gets iced in one round himself

 

Wilder will knock AJ out cold.

 

It won’t happen next. Saudi Arabia aren’t sending the contracts. Joshua wants to be active - he’s the most active top-level heavyweight right now. Expect Joshua, Eddie Hearn and Frank Smith to start looking for new opponents in a few weeks and announce a fight on DAZN on December 23.

Apparently Joshua will fight in Abu Dhabi.

 

When Wilder gets knocked down he is still dangerous when he gets back up. AJ on the other hand takes a couple rounds to recover. This puts WIlder at a big advantage.

 

Possibly. But I have never seen Wilders spirit broken after being knocked down. With Joshua I hope he still got some great performance inside of him deep down there.

I think it will be either a war with multiple knockdowns on both sides ending in a KO.

Or Wilder blasts Joshua out of there within 5 rounds. Probably less.

 

Note. Hungry fighters (who weren't actually even that good) that weren't over 40 and shot against Wilder actually lasted to the later rounds when fighting Wilder with something on the line. Spika, Arreolla, Duhapaus and Molia spring to mind. Obviously Joshua will be levels above these.

And of course that's before we look at Wilder against Fury. A proper top 10 fighter. He's had 3 fights and hasn't been able to stop him.

 

That statistically makes sense and it might very well be the case that Joshua will be too good of an opponent for Wilder. That’s why I don’t rule out a back and forth war.

But the eye test and my gut feeling say Wilder wins.

 

Wilder KO inside 3. Joshua has looked really slow and hittable in his last couple fights, scared to let his right hand go and drops his left hand after he throws jabs. Helenius was taking advantage of that and lumped AJ up with counter jabs and rights.

 

This isn’t news, it’s just another story about the wait on the Saudis.

Wilder and Joshua have been agreed for months.
