Lets get a poll going to see where this stands.
Obviously the wbc isnt the prestigious organisation it once was and Mauricio is just a spoiled rich kid who inhereted this from his daddy and does honor the we be corrupt mantra name often given here.
All of the organisations are jokes but the wbc has to be the most corrupt.

If the wbo can go up to be considered a real organisation when considered a joke once its also possible to downgrade them.
We as fans hsve that power atleast since we have little control over anything else.

With everything that has happened in recent years and now with Charlo and them enabling Fury, it begs the question: Do we as boxingfans still acknowledge the WBC as a legit organisation with boxing champions or is it IBO joke level nowadays?

If they're not interested in taking themselves seriously, why should anyone else do so?

All 4 organizations are hopelessly corrupt, but I still maintain the WBA is clearly the worst of the bunch. WBC, IBF, and WBO all suck out loud as well.

    No

Usyk should now face a legitimate challenge not Tyson Fury

Bring on Wilder to belly him...oh wait:tiburon:

Nobody remembers fighters for the belts they held they remember them for the fights they had and the fights that get made are the ones that make the most money. Nothing new.

The WBA is worse, the WBC and the IBF to me are the most prestigious of the 4 belts.

People forget the Ring belt went through a clownish period as well

Of course, the WBC's entire history has been clownish

    But you get my point

If the Saudis are going to go head-long into boxing throwing huge money at it ... they may as well buy out the 4 belt orgs and start a proper HW league with a single belt. Do it right, and generate enthusiasm and revenue with hardcore fans and casuals alike.

The WBC elevated Anthony Joshua after his last win over Helenius to the #2 spot. They're about to order a final eliminator between their #1 contender Deontay Wilder and #2 Joshua.

Their intent is that the winner of the Wilder-Joshua fight takes on Tyson Fury in Fury's next mandatory.

The WBC can't make them all fight, but they're doing their part and that's a good eliminator.

Meanwhile, the WBA just named Manuel Charr the WBA regular champ (even though there have been two other Regular champs since Charr had it taken away from him) and ordered him to fight longtime PED abuser Big Baby Miller in an eliminator. The winner gets Usyk.

So ... I'm going to say the WBC has a way to go.

There's not a single alphabet organization that I like. Even though The Ring's ratings have their own problems, that's really the only org worth paying attention to. All of the other alphabet belts are meaningless.

I believe The Ring Belt has now been a part of boxing for 100 years. If my math is right. Dempsey was their first HW Champ. I mean as far as historical significance The Ring is up there I would think!

You have a point, at this moment in time Tyson Fury may very well not be a legitimate challenge for Usyk.

This whole "the others are just as bad" and the like is just whataboutery from Fury apologists. The WBC is the worst in terms of pampering their champions especially at HW and this is what has been destroying the HW landscape for years and years now.

None of them are. Good for boxing as a whole. But I’d still rate the WBA WBC and IBF above the WBO. If any of them can be relegated to IBO WBF status it’s the WBO. The other three have too much history behind them.
