The induction of Carl Froch is a ****ing disgrace.
My estimation for the HoF just ****ing plummeted.

The guy was a good fighter, sure, he is possibly a great guy, but he lost to the two best opponents of his career, Ward 12 rounds to 0, and Kessler, yeah he kinda beat Kessler in the rematch when Kessler had nothing left and retired right after the fight.
Btw if Froch is in why isn't Kessler ??

And the profile of his in the IBHOF website is funny.... "includes wins over Brian McGee, Robin Reid and Yusaf Mack" you gotta be kidding me !

He was a good fighter, and maybe he is a great guy.... but listen, if Froch is a Hall of Famer, who else shouldn't be ?
Regilio Tuur needs to be inducted! Juan Diaz is certainly a HoF guy then.
Michael Katsidis! Is Cory Spinks already in ?

What are your thoughts ?? Isn't the HoF losing totally its glam with them making anybody that had a belt ?

It reflects the state of the game — boxing itself became a sham in many ways with the ‘you get a belt, you get a belt, you get a belt’ Oprah show.

Halls of fame have to draw customers, especially on their big induction weekends when they probably make more than half their operating budget for the entire year. That’s reality. Unless they’re funded by a government or super-rich benefactor, the fiscal reality is that some people get in for financial reasons just like some get in for sentimental reasons. It’s not an objective thing where people are inducted in order of greatness … and it’s a hall of fame, not a hall of great.

I’m glad it exists. I really want to get up there one day. My brother has been for induction weekend a couple of times and he tells great stories of hanging out with Iran Barkley or whoever and how cool and nice everyone is. Boxing would be poorer if it had to shut down, so I say do what you gotta do. It’s a silly thing to get indignant over someone being in or some other guy not being in.

While I would love to see a better Hall of Fame for the sport, it is what we have, and I think we are better off with it than we would be with none!

Froch deserves the Hall of The Really Good but no more. And I love the guy and think he underachieved given his talent.

Is there any major sports hall of fame that doesn’t have a few debatable athletes enshrined, including some who aficionados vehemently disagree with being selected, or athletes left out who are clearly better than some who are included?

That's the problem when you have multiple guys get inducted every year, at some point you run out of great fighters and have to put some simply very good ones in. With that said, it is somewhat curious that Froch made it and really didn't have to wait that long and your right, if Froch is in why not Kessler. They had very similar careers in that they were world champions that fell short when matched against Ward and Calzaghe. Why is Ottke not in? Yes, he was not the most exciting but 20 defenses is nothing to sneeze at even if some of those were questionable. He still did more than Froch.

Next few years will probably a lot of good but not great guys get inducted.

I just posted the other day about Justo Suarez, 70 thousand people in the River Plate's Stadium, should he be in the HoF ? No. He isn't, not even being considered, sure he is not english....

Sure, I don't expect it to be perfect.
Is it about nationality maybe ? To me it seems to be. If Froch was paraguayan he wouldn't be there.

If Froch is in, Diego Corrales should be inducted too!

Is Bruno Arcari's name in the ballots ?
    Miguel Lora ??
    Jose Luis Castillo ??

WHY CHINO MAIDANA IS NOT THERE ?????????????????

Froch and Bradley should have only gotten in with a ticket.

It’s become a joke where they’ve got to have three modern guys and they have to sell tickets so you’re getting more and more guys in there who clearly aren’t of them standard.

I’ve been and it is a good time. Lots of great people. I view it more of a good time and experience than anything else.

How much is the Brophy family making off this? And how much are they clearing after expenses on an average year?

This is interesting. Give me some facts about this get-rich scheme. I assume they’re lighting cigars with $100 bills, right?
