Crawford only wants a drained compromised Spence

The problem with a rematch is, if it's at 147, if Bud wins, he'll get no credit because they'll say Spence is drained. If it's a 154, then it's for no titles which does nothing for anyone. At 154, it's just a random fight. What made the first match so huge was it was for Undisputed at WW.

 

I do think Spence would do better and make it more competitive at 154, but what does that do for Crawford? If Spence really wants the rematch, he could accept the fight at 147 then come in over weight, try to beat Bud at his best weight that way. At least then it satisfies Crawford's 147-lb defenses. That said, Bud himself said he struggled to make 147, but he did say he could still make it for Tank Davis. But he indicated he'd rather move up and take bigger challenges at higher weights anyway. I'd personally rather see Bud fight Thurman at 147 or Tim Zoo at 154. Those are bigger more intriguing matchups than a rematch with Spence. It wasn't just the fact that Spence lost, it was how he lost. It was such a bad showing by Spence that I just don't think he deserves a rematch, at least not now. Bud only has so many more fights in him, he's almost 36. Another fight vs Spence just wastes his prime in what is quite possibly a pointless fight.

This pointless rematch makes even less sense at 154.

 

It's not Crawford's responsibility if Spence can't make weight properly in his own division. If he fkd his own camp up then that's on him. Hopefully lessons learnt next time.

Making Crawford out to be some weight draining bully is an interesting twist on things.

 

He wants to fight for titles. What does a non-title fight at 154 vs Spence do for him? Most fans also don't want to see the rematch at any weight.

I believe Crawford is mad enough to take anyone on. It's not a question of him being game or not. It's just not logical to give Spence extra weight. If Spence is forcing the pointless rematch then he can take or leave it. These are the terms he signed up for.

 

What is the point in the rematch. Spence should go up to 154 and show he is still elite and get a title, and then fight TF.
