We saw how keen Hearn was for Benn to keep fighting even after the second positive result. Make no mistake, Hearn is just as keen for Benn to return to the ring as Benn himself.

 

Oh yeah I just kind of take it as a given that Benn has no morals whatsoever. I just thought Hearn might think twice because of his reputation and the potential for it to go wrong.

If any clean fighter gets into the ring, regardless of my feelings about their personality etc, I want to see them fit and able to walk back out of that same ring.

When a fighter tests positive for PED's they lose the right to that morality from me. If they get into the ring again after testing positive and they get seriously injured, so be it because that's exactly what they were loading the dice to do to a clean fighter.

 

And this being the Benn who says he's going to "decapitate" Eubank Jr. He should be banned for that alone.

Hearn's interpretation of it going wrong is when it becomes public his fighter has tested positive and it costs him money because he can't carry on with the fight regardless.

 

I definitely think Hearn/Matchroom have given Con Bent purse advances. A tactic used by promotors to keep fighters who love money more than anything else to keep them 'tied' down.

That's why during 2021 and 2022 his lifestyle changed. He bought a nice big country house, Rolls Royces, Porsches, first class trips to Dubai. All that doesn't come cheap. Then you've got the silly legal fees he would have paid throughout 2022 and 2023.

That's why Hearn wants to milk him. To get his money back and fast.

 

Of course. For Eddie Hearn, it's all about getting his investment back.

 

Hearn has basically given Benn a huge loan and the only way he gets his money back is through Benn fighting.
