I say no because of the trash resume. What say y'all? Spence – drained to death, badly damaged Avanesyan – C level Porter – tough gatekeeper, had one foot out the door, recieved a gift against Ugas Brook – shot to smithereens Kavaliauskas – B level Khan – shot to smithereens Benavidez – one-legged Horn – drained, recieved a gift against Pac Gamboa – had like 25 pounds on Yuri Jean, Beltran, Indongo, Diaz, Molina, Dulorme, Burns – trash Best win is... Postol?
No. Greats do great things like getting up off the canvas in round 12 against the hardest puncher in HW history. Boxing the head off the ginger midget will make Crawford an ATG. Canelo failed his own ATG tests.
I dont know how a 2 division undisputed champion could possibly NOT be an ATG. Please aware me of another Undisputed 2 weight champ who is not atleast a lower tier ATG
Vitali is an ATG and has a weak resume. Crawford skills and accomplishments make him an ATG. Allthough active fighters always get underrated.
He has unified two divisions which is very impressive, but they were relatively weak. The light welter division was weak when he fought there, and whilst the welter division was better, some of his wins were against faded fighters (Porter, Brook, Khan). Him fighting Spence when he did also takes some shine of his legacy as Spence isn't the same fighter post crash. If boxing doesn't change, we will see this more and more. Boxers fighting once/twice a year, avoiding the biggest challenges out there for years until they start to slide, will lead to weaker resumes in the future. There are a decent amount of fighters today with Hall of Fame skills, but they lack a Hall of Fame resume, in my opinion.
Resume hype. How about evaluating skillsets. If you look at his skillset he’s clearly an all time great
Not on resume but he did beat everyone at and a division or two below his natural weight but probably on skills. He’s an elite fighter and probably the best of his era. At least in the conversation. If he cleans out 154, he’s a solid ATG. He might even beat Canelo before he’s done although I can’t see him winning a decision against Gingeroids. If he beats Canelo and doesn’t get the decision, it adds to Crawdad’s legacy. I was hard on him for taking so long to make the Spence fight happen but blame probably goes to the Spence team. They knew what would happen and oh boy did it happen. Spence was humiliated.
His accomplishments are there, just not the resume. Same with Inoue, so I'd say NO on both being ATG'S at the moment.
Achievement wise yes but resume wise not even close. It depends on what your criteria is but based on his dominance, achievements, H2H, he has the ingredients to being an ATG. But I dunno his resume falls really short for me. He needs 1 or 2 more big wins before hes an ATG IMO.
The fact that you even mention being hard on Crawford for Spence taking so long implies bias. Crawford had zero to do w that.
