I'm ok with Crawford saying 147 or nothing

Seems obvious he is doing it because he wants to move on from Spence and he is contractually within his right to ask for 147. Like I said in another thread when referring to Errol being able to call for the rematch even though the first fight wasn't close at all that he should be able to enact it. Funny how the first fight was all about strap season for Errol but in the rematch he doesn't care if he gets the titles back. Fighters and boxing fans are funny like that. Titles matter only in certain circumstances it seems.

By that same token the contract stipulates the winner picks the weight so Terrence is wholly within his right to ask for 147. Anyone thinking Terrence is doing this out of fear is insane. He whooped Errol worse than I have ever seen a fighter get whooped in a fight of that magnitude where it was looked at as close to a 50/50 fight. It looked to me like Errol needs to retire but I am no doctor. That fight honestly was disturbing to watch and I don't see him taking this at 147.

Terrence is at the end of his career now and doesn't want to be bothered with a fight he gains nothing from. Yeah he will get paid but now there are even bigger money and legacy fights out there. I don't blame him one bit. Blame Errol for not making it even slightly competitive. He looked like a washed gatekeeper which I certainly didn't expect.

I agree to a certain extent but due to all the rumors circulating around Spence being weight drained or spent not being truly healthy against Crawford there is still a little bit of an excuse there. I hear you mentioning big money fights The only real big money fight out there for him as Canelo and Canelo is all the way at 168 and we don't even know if Canelo beats Charlo (I think it will be a controversial decision). And with charlow having a huge size advantage at 160 and 168 I'm not even sure Crawford beats him hell I don't even know if Crawford beats to zoo or Ennis. I personally think so the smoke clears I think Crawford should just go ahead and give Spencer rematch at 1:54 so there is no more excuses. He will get a nice payday and then he can go on fighting the virgils and it says charlos and canelo's of the world. I still don't think dispense fight showed us how good Crawford is because of how bad Spence looked and the fact that Spence would have lost to every other top four well to wait in the division

Is it possible Crawford is using it as a negotiation tactic? Or by him stating that it is going to be at 147 that the weight is no longer negotiable? (I would think it still could be negotiated but I don't know boxing contracts) I don't personally think it is a negotiating tactic, I believe he feels he is done with Errol but I agree it is also an excuse.

Crawford owes him nothing. Let TC move up.

There's a possibility but I'm just asking myself outside of Canelo who else can he fight that will bring him the money that he demands they're just isn't that many superstars in the sport of boxing and hell even Crawford still isn't a big name like people think. Right now I think it should be about legacy I think Crawford should fight Virgil Ortiz Ennis Charlo and maybe Canelo and call it a day also rematch Spence if possible

Actually he does owe him something a rematch clause is in place and an argument could be made that Crawford did not fight the best version of Spence

Well despite Spence being p4p rated, unbeaten and being the best WW on the planet there are those who don't credit Crawford for the victory.

I'd assume he gets even less credit beating a Spence in his first fight at a new weight and coming off a horrific one sided loss.

Rematch is pointless and no one wants to see it.

Again I just disagree I think Crawford beating Spence at 1:54 would be a little more fulfilling than 147 due to all the excuses ( which seem to be valid) bet that are surrounding Spence when it comes to his health at weight

Spot on, it's not up to Bud to move to whatever weight suits Spence. Why should he? He beats Spence stupid at any weight. Why would he move up if moving up is not in his longer term thinking. Spence lost the first fight, it's entirely on him to play by Bud's rules regarding a rematch.

Man, if he beats Spence at 154 there'd still be excuses. Losing fighters (and their fans) always make excuses.

Any rematch should be on Crawford's terms, not Errol's. Straps or no straps, Spence is the "challenger" in this situation and as a consequence of losing the first fight also forgoes much of his leverage.

On one hand yes, on the other hand where was this legacy fights chasing guy a decade ago?
But Bud vs Spence 2 is as pointless as Haney vs Kambosos

The weight was Spence's request, he was a WW champion defending against Crawford, as the A Side.

The only valid criticism is that Spence has just been in a car crash and perhaps suffered brain damage. Well that situation is certainly no better after Crawford smashed him around the ring.

Rematch is pointless, no one wants to see it.

The best version of Spence? Is Spence going to be in a time warp and erase that ass kicking?

At 147 I agree, the fight is pointless. If Crawford wins he will get even less credit for it. 154 is the weight for the rematch. Spence won't be drained and should put up a better challenge, which, in my opinion will just prolong the ass whoopin.
